These calipers are fantastic! The customer service has been nothing short of excellent. As others have stated, they send a nice follow up to check on whether or not you are satisfied and send some tips for use and care. It's a nice touch and they don't overdo it. I think they sent 2 or 3 emails just making sure I was happy. I am! Seems to be a family run business and a great one to support. I have been using my boss's calipers for years now and decided it's time to get my own. He has Mitutoyo digital calipers that he has owned for 15+ years. There is no doubt that his are fantastic and have withstood the test of time. They also cost (especially at the time) a substantial amount more than these. When I received them my boss wanted to see how badly I got ripped off... He was amazed! You can feel the quality of these right off the bat. The slider action is smooth and they seem to be dead accurate. I used his to test these against and they were right on every time. It's nice that you can switch between mm, in, and fractions. The "menu" is simple and bright enough to see even outdoors. The box they come in is worth keeping for so long as it lasts and they even throw in an extra battery and screw driver into the kit for you. I am extremely satisfied and would recommend these to anyone looking to purchase their first calipers or replace their old workhorse set.

This digital caliper is easy to use, smooth and tight, and has a fair heft. In six weeks of using it, it has always zeroed out perfectly when closed after completing measurements. Numbers are easily read and buttons are spaced far enough apart that changing settings isn't difficult for large, or gloved, hands. So far I'd say it's outstanding for the price.

Other comments have said that this is heavy. One reason I bought it actually. I didn't wand some plastic toy. The reason I didnt give 5 stars is not because of its heft, its because its got a heavy head and the rest is sort of out of balance. I use a lot of tools and certain tools feel good to me because of their heft and their balance. Otherwise, I have found it to be solid and accurate. I hope this is helpful to someone.

I own a shutter and blind manufacturing company. we seem to go through modest priced calipers very quickly. Most measure well, but the plastic bodies just don't seem to hold up, especially the snap in slide in battery covers. They soon lose their tangs or soon will not secure the battery in place. Well a caliper without battery power is useless, and a loose battery means is on and off constantly and loses its reading. But this caliper is far better. The body is all metal, and the battery cover attaches with a screw. After months I enjoy using it, and find it to be extremely accurate in our woodworking busing, and measuring some metals too. And the battery cover stays put. I will be buying another, probably several. I wish I had found this sooner.

What's not to like? Works great. Solid construction. Electronics produce accurate, repeatable readings. Yep, it weighs close to half a pound but what do you expect - it's made of stainless steel. In my opinion, you get WAY more than you pay for. I do, however, have one, small gripe and that is that the screwdriver doesn't fit in the recess designed for it (I expect it was designed for a different screwdriver). I solved the problem by punching a hole where the tip of the screwdriver should sit and just push the tip through the hole. That produces an added benefit of holding the screwdriver in place so it doesn't flop around or fall out. An ice pick of the tip of a small, pointed knife will get the job done.

I personally have never owned a caliper or had the need to use one. Typically I do carpentry work using a reliable tape measure without having to make absolute precision cuts. I bought this device because I quickly learned that if you plan on tackling a bunch of shelves with shelf pins & have to bore the holes for the sleeves as well as the pins, precision becomes critical. I've been very pleased with the quality of craftmanship & the accuracy of this caliper. Seems once you buy this for a specific purpose, you'll end up using it for multiple purposes such as I have. I have yet to use it's full potential but it has proven very practical for all the tasks I've used it for. Well worth the reasonable price I paid for this and the company is exceptional at following up on your purchase inquiring if you've had any difficulties with the caliper. I like the fact that you can choose multiple displays for your own preference such as metric for millimeters, or imperial for inches in decimal form or displayed in 1/64 fractions. The plastic case is a nice touch to store the caliper along with an included extra 3V lithium replacement battery & screwdriver for the removal of the current battery in the caliper.

I purchased one of these about 3 yrs ago and have found that I constantly find uses for it around the shop. Very useful is using it to measure the size of nuts and bolts so I can get the proper size tool and save many trips back and forth to the toolbox. It is extremely easy to use and always works. Except for the last time I went to use it. So I checked the battery which was low so put in a new one and still nothing. I looked up when I purchased it and sent an email to EA Gems..Rhonda got right back to me and said she would send a replacement out straight away..No questions asked just friendly , quick customer service. I highly recommend this tool and would buy it again.

Excellent quality and finish. Works smoothly, and is apparently water-resistant (I have not dipped it in water -yet! - to test the claim, though). I had several other calipers before, but they did not last long before getting erratic and eating batteries like there was no tomorrow. I am very pleased with this one.

Good built and heavy. Seems very durable and quality is ok. One thing is battery is already dead when it came but good thing, it has a spare one. All in all, i like my caliper it does a great job on my work!

This caliper is very handy for small wood working projects. The fraction display makes measurements very accurate, therefore better fits. I use this caliper every day and it works very well.
