This novel is a tale of love, a tale of friendship and a tale of re- incarnation. Written by Bhubanmohan Baruah (pen-name - Kanchan Baruah), first published in 1945. This book has continued to amaze people till date. I have heard about this book long time back when i was in school or college . every person that i have encountered who have read this novel used to tell me that its pitty that i have deprieved myself from reading this beautifully written novel so far. Anyways, in August, 2018 finally i told myself that i should read this to understand why people are so crazy about this novel which was written more than 65 years ago. Now i am halfway cross the book and i realized that what i have been missing so far . This novel is so addictive and you won't feel how time flies by once you start reading. This novel is a gem in assamese literature. Hope one day a great director'll notice this masterpiece and make a blockbuster bigger than Baahubali , i bet it'll.Regarding the delivery charge: You are charging almost equivalent to the book price to deliver the item. So those 5 stars are only for the book and the author and zero star for the vendor. The delivery price should not hv been more than ₹50-60/- .

I am not a official buyer here. I have read this book 8/9 years ago. N may hv read 3/4 times since then. I am writing this just to inform the people who didn't read assamese books before and now want to read some of them. This is not actually a book for beginner, but if you understand the language well then there is no problem. This is undoubtedly one of the best and most popular books in assamese literature. The story has every ingredient of awesomeness. It has love, politics, sacrifice, fantasy. Just a little advice, if you find the first few pages boring, then just skip it. There's nothing special there, just some romanticism. But then the story gets picked up and you won't help yourself from completing it within a few days

I have not bought this book from Amazon but wrote the review since, I thought it is a nice way to inform book lovers who have not read this book yet about this classic masterpiece of assamese literature. It is a story about friendship, dreams, selfless love for motherland and about eternal love between two souls even when there is no physical beauty remained. More than that a one sided, secretive love which broked all the hurdles of the society to serve her beloved but, never did she disclosed it infront of anyone till her last breath or expected anything in return and that is something which the writer have given shape in the entire story so mysteriously that no reader can wholly assume until they go till the end of the book and I think I should not break of that mystery. So friends, grab your copy of this evergreen classic and a jewel of assamese literature written in India of 1945 and have even crossed it's platinum jubilee but is till date loved by every reader of Assam and I can bet that whoever have read this book will neither forget the sweet fights of Chandan-Gauri nor the mysterious smile of Champa. The book proved to be my best past time enjoyment in between the period after my class 10 boards 2018 and results declaration.
