Not my favorite flat wound
I have been a user of D'addario Chromes on my Jack Casady Epiphone bass for some time now. I enjoyed their mid-range growl but disliked the high tension and sticky feel of those strings. I bought the Fender's on some online recommendations since there were not on the expensive side for flats. The feel is smoother than Chromes and the tension is a bit less. I exclusively play flats with a pick and play rounds finger style. These hold up well to my picking style but don't have the mid-range growl of the Chromes. I'm going to give these strings some time to break in, but if their tonal quality does not improve with age, I will probably be replacing them.

Nopt good for all genres of music
If you are playing primarily Jazz these are just right. If you rare playing any rock styles they are not bright enough.

Great Choice
The strings have a great feel. Flats don't have that annoying finger noise. Very versatile, good for straight ahead playing or slap. They don't eat up your Greeks neck like rounds.

Good price, good quality
Classic flat wound tone yet brighter than La Bella’s and less tension. Perfect for my ‘72 P-bass

Great bass strings
These are the best bass strings I've tried so far. Im no expert by any means but they seem to be easier on the fingers while also delivering excellent tone.

the only bass strings i buy
I've tried I think all of the flatwound strings on the market, going up past the $100-for-a-set range. I keep coming back to these. I've never liked the buzzy bright tone of roundwound strings on a bass, especially when you forget to tune your instrument and it sounds like a flopping wet noodle (aka Korn). These take a lot of abuse before wearing out, have an articulate, smooth tone, and a really nice, smooth, matte nickel touch. I've tried flats that were a little brighter and more articulate (and more expensive), and I've also tried flats that sounded like you were playing a gutbucket in another room of the house. These hit the sweet spot.

Fitted to my accoustic bass and they are fantastic.
I bought these to replace the roundwound phosphor bronze strings on my new accoustic bass. The pb strings were noisy with too much finger noise and rattled because of their relatively low tension. So I tried these Fender flatwounds as a bit of an experiment. Very glad I did. No more scratchy finger noise and the tone is wonderful. The brightness is still there but none of the scratches and rattles. These strings have turned my budget B-stock accoustic bass into a thing of beauty.

Fender bass strings - flats.
excellent strings for fretless bass, I even have them on my fretted F/Jazz and F/Precision which gives both basses a nice warm sound and very clean when using finger style. You can`t go wrong with anything from Fender, in my opinion.

Great price and great sound.
My budget doesn’t allow me the expensive brands, so I took a chance on the Fenders. To my surprise... these are exactly what I want. I play a fretless bass that was shipped with round wounds which had a bit of uncontrollable rattle. I knew by experience the flats would cure that. I will be buy the Fender flats from now. Let’s see how they hold out.

Great Price and great strings
For the price these are great - just as good as more popular brands like Rotosound or Ernie Ball. Would recommend.

Five Stars
Nice strings at a good price. Plenty of length for your long scale basses, and a good punchy sound.
