The media could not be loaded.  I replaced a one year old 7 panel deformable LED screw in light (the LED lights with the movable wings) because it died - see the video of the old, folding light with the one panel dying.I bought this fixed movement “corn light” one other time in 2019 and it’s still going strong in the same garage so I bought another one to replace the dying “deformable” wing light seen in the video.The new LED corn bulb comes with the socket adapter for E26 to E39 sockets. See the photo with the larger E39 adapter. This bulb will fit a standard E26 bulb socket or the larger E39 socket with the included adapterThe new bulb is bright, has a small footprint and puts out as much light as the old “deformable” model with the “wings” that burned out after a year.Based on my 4 year experience with the same bulb. I can recommend this LED “corn” light for both light output and longevity. Hope that helps!

I'm pretty sure this is not going to be the angle most reviewers are coming at this thing from, but I'm using this in a floor lamp in my apartment living room. Yes, it is extremely bright for room lighting. I leave it off in the evening usually, but during the day I like to leave it on to bring the brightness inside a little closer to the exterior, and the light blends great with light spilling in from windows (I've switched all my other indoor lights to daylight balanced bulbs as well). A few things you should know:1. Build quality isn't amazing, which is why it's not getting the fifth star from me. I have it sitting upright in a lamp though, so I'm not really worried about any environmental stresses on it.2. It is _a lot_ bigger than a standard lightbulb. That's probably something the target audience for this product already knows, but if you're looking to replace a standard size lightbulb with it, take note that this thing will be about twice as tall and maybe one and a half times as wide as the widest point in a typical bulb. I ended up having to buy a new lamp to fit it, so make sure you're careful about the size of your lighting fixtures.3. As you can see from the picture, the light source is not one giant LED, but four vertical rows of LEDs in sections around the bulb. I have mine sitting in  this  rectangular lamp, and the result is that it casts a stack of shadows on the wall right above the lamp shade. I don't really mind it, but it's something to consider.

This light makes a nice bright white light. I'm using it on a dusk to dawn light. I know it's not water proof but I'm worried about wind driven rain. The LEDs are covered by loose clear plastic covers that are not sealed to the case.

Originally I gave this four stars. Now, I'm deducting one. Again, I'm a photographer, and need light to shoot. While this is a great bulb, the things I'm ticking stars off are, it has a propensity to get fairly hot! But the LED design and build is flickering, which shows in the images I had originally posted. Look at other options, generally trust the pattern of lots of reviews and make your choice. Since this was built, the LEDs have been made that have no noticable flicker and banding.*Original 2016 post follows* Pretty darn bright light! The reason I bought one was simply to see whether the lamp was both true daylight balanced (it is) and whether the unit could be used for a cold lamp to shoot video (it can, to a point). I love the fact that this lamp has LED chips everywhere on the sides but NOT on top. So for my own purposes, I can use it inside the  Neewer® Photo Studio Multifunctional 24x24"/60x60cm Softbox with S-type Speedlite Flash Bracket Mount and Carrying Case for Portrait or Product Photography . The lamp has four strips of LEDs that spray light off the each side. It's truly bright, stays cool enough (but do not keep it lit while setting on anything, it will get much hotter than its already almost-too-warm-to-hold temperature), and isn't overly heavy, but feels solidly built. I'm sure other people have considered the FEIT bulb to shoot video. It's great if you shoot with a shutter speed of 1/50th or 1/60th second (to cover both 24p and 30p recording). Forget about it once you start ramping the shutter speed above 1/125th second as you'll see banding more and more. I've taken some iPhone images that clearly show the result, along with shutter speeds. I had to deduct one star for some random light flicker. Didn't notice that before today, and I wonder how that will look while I'm shooting video.This is NOT dimmable. It claims an output of 38 watts and yet it truly kicks out lumens. If you cover the lights it will get warmer than you'd want. In the photos of the lamp as it's lit, the iPhone took photos at 1/41,667th, 1/4,566th, 1/873rd and 1/193rd second (this one being the partially-opened light box). You'll REALLY see the banding, which takes place when a high shutter speed meets a light whose wavelength doesn't mesh. DON'T WORRY, your EYES won't see this (but for the very slight flicker once in a while). All the other pictures were taken at 1/60th sec or less.

I use this light for an area security light on a dusk to dawn photo sensor. We had a power outage in our area and it killed the last one. It lights up the area well and uses little power. It screws into a regular light socket without having to use additional power manipulators like a ballast resistor or a transformer.I recommend this item.
