True Ghost Stories: Real Haunted Woods and Forests

I bought this guy's entire series of these books and they *are* mildly interesting, but they are so amateurishly done that they were almost a chore to get through.Every one of the books is absolutely riddled with typos and grammatical errors. There was clearly not even the most basic proofreading or editing done before these were printed. They were obviously self-published and -printed, but even so, Jesus, spend at least THIRTY SECONDS looking them over for errors. Thankfully, they're all very short--basically pamphlet-sized.To top things off, he gives out one of the books--the one on Black-Eyed Children--for free as a link to a PDF that he puts in every one of the other books, but then he ended up later printing and selling THAT book too. So for someone like me who bought all the books at once--including that one--I ended up paying for a book that I could have gotten for free. Really, dude, if you've already given something out for free to everyone, you don't then SELL it a few months later as a greedy tactic to get just a bit more cash.All in all, they were ok books with a some interesting tidbits on the paranormal, but the slapdash way they were put together took a lot of the enjoyment out of them.

In the interest of fairness this is my mother’s account so it’s Richard Taylor not Marlene posting. Having said that I think overall this entire series is pretty good for light reading and many of the stories presented have inspired me to do further research into their respective topics, some for my actual job and others just out of curiosity. My only issue is the abundance of grammatical errors that I think could have been corrected with better editing. Although interpretive writing is a major part of what I do for a living I myself have issues with grammar so if I can see the mistakes that’s saying something. As previously stated other than that overall I thought this book and series was pretty good, especially for those with an interest in the paranormal.

I enjoyed this book! It hit a various range of locations around the world. Great history involved as well. Great work!

This was a quick and spooky read. I really liked how the chapters were set up to each place. Each starts with a bit of background and description and then various anecdotes of scary things that happened and general creepiness. This is the 2nd True Ghost Stories book I've read and I will be reading more. What I liked best: The stories about the non-american forests that I hadn't heard to much about before and how their respective cultures reacted to these places. What I least: This book could benefit by a quick look-over from an editor. There are some typos and repeated phrases but nothing really egregious. I'm happily rating this 5 stars despite the editing issues because I really liked this and will continue to buy Mr. Knowles' books.

Good book easy read when you have nothing to do.

I've read a number of books by this author and enjoyed them all. I've heard of one or two of these forests, but this book told me of quite a few more. It's a fast read and if you're into hauntings, this might interest you!

A nice selection of spooky stories some of which were completely new to me. I have given it s 3 Star Rating because there were too many grammatical errors in the text which I found irritating. No complaints about the content and will be reading more of ZK's work in the future
