As a long time k&n user, I had no problems deciding to use this intake. As other reviewers stated, two of the hose clamps included were too small and I had to buy some. I also had no luck getting the heat shield mounted in the car. I decided to leave it out for now. I plan to try again later and probably make some small modifications to the mounting z brackets to get it to fit. As far as the actual performance of the intake, absolutely love it! I can definitely feel the added torque and the intake noise when the mivec system kicks in is amazing. The looks of the engine bay is greatly improved. I will get the heat shield installed, but only 4 stars because of the clamps and install issues. Overall the performance is awesome and I would buy another in a heartbeat!

I really like this product I won’t lie, but man it’s not conducive to a $350 product. As all the other reviews say, one of the hose clamps is too small. The other two were perfect, but the one for the actual filter does not fit. There were more than a handful of issues with the installation so you do have to know what you’re doing. I do have the automatic eclipse, and I was able to get it to fit without cutting any holes, but man there was a lot of stupidity. Great sound though, it’s honestly amazing and if you’re willing to accept the price and have the know how, I would highly highly suggest that you’d buy it, because the sound is just godly. I don’t even have an exhaust. After this modification I don’t even think I’ll need one!! Also- this intake will NOT improve performance in any appreciable way. It is renowned in the 4G Eclipse community for being a "hot" air intake and hurts performance more than it helps, which for $350 is incredibly disappointing. It still sounds great, but just something to keep in mind as these engines already run on the warmer side.

Spent the extra money on K&N because I wanted a no comprises solution for my daily driver that would “just work”. For as big of a name as K&N is I expected more. Packaging was fine and I’m all for less money wasted on packaging if the product is cheaper. But this at $300 I expected more. Packaging was very cheap and that set the tone for my entire install. As others mentioned the mounts on the heat shield didn’t line up correctly and the hose clamp to my filter was too small. The first I could reasonably see being variations with MY and trim level. But the hose clamp too?? Honestly this is just unacceptable. I purchased a no name cat back for this car and it bolted right up. So what are you really paying more for with this? Would not recommend and this really changed my opinion of K&N. If I were to do it again I would go with a lesser name or no name intake for significantly less. Can’t comment on performance as I also did a TB bypass and replaced a VVT solenoid during install but it sounds and looks nice. For reference my vehicle is a 08 SE 3.8L auto.

Heat shield and equipment did not line up as described in the instructions. The bottom two brackets and screws were fine, but the back bracket (vibration mount) was way off. Currently not using it. Also The factory air inlet duct does not fit the hole in the heat shield properly. Heat shield sit to low for a snug fit and part of the air inlet duct sit outside of the heat shield. If anyone has an idea how the correct the air inlet duct issue I have please let me know. I also had issues with the provided hose clamp being to small to go around the air filter and pipe. If I can get the issues (air inlet duct and vibration mount) fix I will easily upgrade this to 4 stars. I love the performance upgrade and would recommend this to others. If I had no issues at all this would be a easy 5 star.
