If had it for a day and I’m pleasantly surprised The weave is tight and as stiff a a new 16 plait should be. The color is uniform and I’m glad I chose the black/red (over my tendency to go all black) as it highlights the weave pattern. It’s exactly as described and arrived on the early end of the delivery window.

Got to break it in, but I expect many years of use out of it.

The whips rigidity only carries out a short distance of maybe 3 feet into the whip. This is likely due to the plaitting count (this is no fault to the maker as they clearly advertise the plaitting and length). This whip in particular is a bit difficult to control due to its flimsiness however, that makes it FANTASTIC for flicks and slow overheads! So while it isn't retaining rigidity like it's 6ft counterpart it IS a flowing beauty for a great price. Not disappointed in the slightest, but I did have to replace the fall (these things do happen) due to it being slightly too thick to crack easily. This is an easy fix, but it is fair to warn that if you have difficulty cracking this when you get it just investigate the fall. The hitch itself is well made and easy to loosen and slip the new fall I made through. Pair this with a nylon or Kevlar cracker and you have a fun tendril to sling.

I learned to use a whip back in the 80's on a cheap tourist-bought whip from Gatlinburg.Instantly I could tell the difference in quality.I don't know if this is professional grade, but it is definitely a whip that will last a long time.Just remember, the crackers, the tips, are meant to wear out and be replaced, so don't whine when they start fraying.
