This is a great set of blanks! I did not use the included rivets as I prefer to make my own. Other than that, I have greatly enjoyed making my own tongs out of these blanks. Keep in mind that the final product is directly proportional to the work you put in. These are blanks, and will need a great deal of finishing. Absolutely recommend for anyone wanting to beat out their own custom tongs.

They are nice when you finally get them finished but trying to split 2 pairs of tongs made it a little difficult. Besides that I have no complaints about them.

They did not put holes in them so the rivet would hold the two halves together to actually be able to use them.

Ordered more no you don't have to be a Profesional blacksmith to make these and they do require some work but the skill you get forging these you need to learn anyway if this is to much for you than blacksmithing is not for you. I've ordered 3 more sets. The rights I got are bright steel not aluminum. If you have ever been to a blacksmith shop you will see almost 100 sets of tongs fore different purposes. Let's say you want to make 3/8 tongs like these you want them to close on 3/8 stock just right to hold them. When you put these tongs o. 1/2 inch stock they will not be comfortable to hold so you need a different set for them or reforge your 3/8 tongs to fit 1/2 inch. So spend the time and learn how to forge these and you will learn skills you will need and save hundreds of dollars over buying tongs that you lack the skills to use. Or you can cut your own from plate steel and then forge them.

Was happy to receive this in a timely manner.Did not come with any type of instructions on how to construct the Tongs. Came with a QR code that takes you to a YouTube Site with some guy telling you about the instruction and showing how to forge the tongs. Very boring video.

As advertised, great product.

Perfect if you're starting out in Blacksmithing, not oly do you practice and experience but you also end up with five pairs of very useful tongs.
