Yep, it's a pound, a nice hefty block of wax.

Does it smell like anything/have a flavor?

Actually smells really nice... not JUST wax smell.... not sure how to describe... flowery maybe

Can thia be applied cold, or must it be melted on?

Hot application is recommended, however you can apply cold by rubbing it on, cork it in and brush it out.
