I don't normally write reviews, but I read a LOT of reviews before I bought this that complained of a smell of sulfur. Then, I came across a review that said if you follow the instructions, it won't smell like sulfur. So, I ordered this, knowing that I'd be writing a review to let people know my experience, (as well as ordering it to get alkaline water.)I'm going to say the exact same thing that other person said. I've had this for about a week, and there's not even a hint of a bad smell. If you follow the instructions, and thoroughly rinse off the filter when you first open it, you won't have that sulfuric smell, because you'll have rinsed off all the extra pieces sitting around, or that got knocked around during shipping - which is uncontrollable from any seller as far as I'm aware, no matter how much bubble wrap, etc is used. Boxes get thrown around by every company that moves boxes, bubble wrap and everything stops damage from impact, but things like a filter still have their insides shaking around.If you rinse it off thoroughly, it will smell like alkaline water, and taste like alkaline water. It's literally in the instructions to thoroughly rinse it off before use lol. Don't give bad reviews if you don't even follow the companies instructions. I don't even know this seller, but I know they don't deserve all those reviews about sulfur smelling water. People are going to think it's the water filter from Hell, when it's actually a pretty good filter.

It makes the water taste bad and smell a bit. It was not for me. I had 3 others try it and even changed the alkaline same results. Fart smelling water

I wash the bottle every night, with a sponge and soap. The container smells fine in the morning, but by the end of the day the inside of the container smells terrible. It makes drinking the water difficult. I have used several other containers and filters and have never had this issue, even after weeks of not washing them out. I am not sure if it's the container of the filter, but I am not a fan. I have decided to get a whole house water filter, that also raises the PH. It seems much easier, far more expensive, but easier, to have 1 system that filters and makes alkaline water. Now I can get it from any faucet in the house as well.

My husband bought two bottles for us to try because we were each going through at least 2 50oz plastic alkaline water bottles a day. Plastic alkaline water bottles add up in cost. The very first day I fell in love. I filled the bottle with purified water, shook it and let sit for 15 mins and the water tasted better than any plastic bottle. Since I work from home but the moment it has been great. Once I am done I just refill with purified water from my fridge. We have really cut cost from buying so much alkaline water every week.

The filters are a great idea, way more affordable than buying gallons of alkaline water.For the reviews saying that it makes the water taste and smell funny, the directions say to rinse the filter for about 15 seconds before using for the first time, and to wait 15 minutes before drinking the water each time you refill. I also hand washed the water bottle first since it did have a funny smell, which went away right after I did. I am looking forward to trying some of the other filters they have, they seem interesting.

Not a big fan of the tap water at my job, but with this filter, I get fresh and better-tasting alkaline water within minutes! I love the ease of use and how there's an accompanying app that tracks usage of the filter and even suggests what my water intake should be. Feels great knowing that I'm staying healthy and hydrated, while also reducing plastic waste!

The alkaline water tastes fantastic. The water bottle is a great quality. I've noticed that there is a slight boiled egg like odor. Hopefully this goes away soon! I've been using this for 6 days now, it's gotten a little bit better. I'm not sure if it's the water bottle or the alkaline stick. The first day was very bad!
