Very sturdy arm and well-weighted base
My wife picked up paint-by-numbers as a hobby during the pandemic, and for the last 1-2 years has been using a small, hand-held, magnifying glass to see the tiny numbers while she's painting. Don't know why the lightbulb hadn't clicked in my head before, but I thought of surprising her with a larger hands-free magnifier like this one.First picture shows it with the light off. Second with the light on. Third shows the power cord connection. Yes, it comes with a power cube about the size of a standard phone power cube, as well as with the cord itself. It also comes very well packed in minimalist packaging, so it won't break in transit. It's very easy to put together and the included instructions very clearly show you how to put the arm into the base.Particular features I searched for and found in this one:- Large, solid glass, with clear magnification- Wide field of view with sufficient magnification for all kinds of projects, not just painting/drawing -- Comes in handy when fixing little things, like jewelry, or putting things together- Long arm that allows for positioning around the various sized canvases she likes to paint- Heavy enough base that'll keep the arm and magnifying glass from tipping over- Light that allows working in less-than-perfect light- Very important: continuous power supply so that we don't have to worry about the light going out in the middle of a projectThis magnifying lamp hit all the requirements. I looked up a large number of other magnifiers on Amazon and this one was the only one that fit all the requirements for a reasonable price. Most of the others required charging up the battery pack; would tip over easily; had a clamp instead of a heavy base to hold up the arm; had a lens that was too small; were too expensive; etc. This was an easy buy and we weren't disappointed. My wife's eyes lit up when she saw it because she wasn't expecting the pleasant surprise, and she immediately put it to use. While I am giving it five stars, and I recommend it, I just want you to be aware of two minor, nit-picky, things that I would wish for, but nonetheless do not take away in any way from this great product.1. I "wish" the arm were 3" to 4" longer. Not much. But just enough to reduce having to move it around at times. Those extra couple of inches would just make it that much more perfect.2. Not necessarily a "wish" item, but rather an "observation". You can see from the third picture that the plug doesn't seem to go all the way into the power receptacle in the base. The plug does fit snuggly and hasn't come out. It does make good contact, so it doesn't reduce the effectiveness nor detract in any way. However, it just bugs me a tiny bit that when you plug something into something I'm used to having it go all the way in. In this case it doesn't. Oh well, I'll just have to live with it. Again, it works great. Just my minor annoyance. You should definitely buy this.

A good find
This lamp manufacturer took care to eliminate all of challenges I had experienced with previous similar purchased products! The most irritating is adjusting the neck to get the perfect view and the lamp topples over. You don't have to worry bout that with this lamp! I purchased this for my elderly mother to assist in coin collecting hobby. It has a weighted base so it can sustain balance, it has a power cord in stead of batteries so if she forgets to turn off, no time delay to charge. The power switch is right on base of lens and it's touch activated, the led lights are bright enough even during the day. It has performance exceptional this far. I'm going to purchase another for my desk. I'm completely satisfied with this purchase and I'm confident in recommending to others.

Nice large magnifier, wish the light was brighter
This was easy to assemble and the magnifier is large (5x) and is glass. I looked for the brightest magnifier that I could find, with the large glass and at least a 5x, seemed to be the best. However I an still a little disappointed in how bright this is. I also wish the base was heaver, it is tippy when extended. The flexibility of the lamp also leaves a little to be desired. Again I looked for the longest arm without a clamp base and this seemed to be the one I could find. I did not want to clamp it because I wanted to be able to use it at different locations. With the glass lense, light, and no clamp this seemed to be the best option. With that noted I would purchase again with these requirements.

Love this item.
I bought this for my husband for xmas.. He loves it.. He said that it has helped him while repairing small items such as the carburetor on our generator. Very small parts and he was able to see them clearly. He said he has gotten a lot of use out of it. I would highly recommend this item. The lens is clear and the light is a big help also. It is a great gift for anyone.. One of those( what do you get someone who has everything?) Well add it to your shopping list. They will love it.

sturdy, pretty, and easily adjustable.
This magnifying glass is wonderful! The neck of it is long enough and easy to twist into the shape you want so that you can be right-handed or left-handed and put it on your right or left, or even in front of you swinging toward yourself while you work on projects. I paid triple as much for a hobby light that kept bumping into my right hand and I'm right-handed because the lens only was usable in that position. I don't have that problem with this device. I just wish the light were brighter. It's very sturdy.

Great light but it shuts off
I was looking forward to getting this lamp since I bought some crafts that need light and magnification. Lighting is great as is the magnification. The problem is the light turns off sometimes. Probably 5 out of 10 times. It shuts off within a few minutes of turning it on and then once I turn it back on, it shuts off again. This happens about 5-6 times. It eventually will stay on. I'm wondering if there is a short in it or something. I will keep it and just deal with the issue. Not sure I would recommend it.
