Fun Family Game!
We have had a great time playing this since Christmas! My daughter is 6 and absolutely loves it! There is enough strategy to make the game interesting and lightly tense without making my 6 year old frustrated or lost. The components are the high quality I'm used to from HABA games, and the art is absolutely adorable. My husband and I have played a few times each controlling two boats and had a blast as adults - this definitely makes the strategy more interesting! Thanks HABA for a wonderfully fun and new family game night staple!

Beautifully made! Perfect addition to our Gramma Camp Viking theme!
HABA is the best! The quality of this game is stellar. Bought it as an addition to our Gramma Camp Viking theme. A hit with my 5 and 8-year-old grandsons. Super fun to assemble the longships and set up the game. The rules of the game took a bit of going over and over again, but once we caught the vision we were excited to begin raiding and plundering. Thank you HABA!

Fantastic learning dexterity and strategy game
I gave this to my almost 6 year old son for the holidays. He loves seeing a yellow HABA box when unwrapping a present and usually for good reason. There's enough game here to keep him interested with the giant bowling ball knocking over colored barrels. The plastic gold colored coins are also fun to toss into your viking ship. There's also a lot more strategy to this game than I realized. That's actually a good thing since he'll be able to learn and grow into the game mechanics. So it's a great game to learn light strategy with. I think he still likes Dragon's Breath (also from HABA) better for now, but that may change. I took away a star because I am worried about how well the game components will hold up. The game board is put together like a jigsaw puzzle. It won't be long before the ends start to separate and curl up. Also, the piece used to hit the ball (which adds to the dexterity fun of the game) is just another cardboard punch-out. We'll see how well that holds up too. However, the bowling ball, gold coins and barrels are fantastic quality. Yes, I would recommend this game to anyone looking for a light and fun game for their little ones.

Fantastic game for the whole family
This is a greta game and arrived quickly. I also want to make amends for a incorrectly left feedback earlier that was intended for a different game and seller which was terrible experience. Not the case with this Haba game! Awesome!

Quality and fun game
This is a really good quality game with quality playing pieces. The cardboard Viking ships are also very sturdy. We love playing Haba games as a family because they are good for younger players but also still fun for adults. This game does not disappoint. It was chosen as the game of the year in Germany and with good reason. It is fun for our whole family and my kids love trying to knock over the colored barrels.

Seems like a kids game, but is much more
Let me start with the fact that I did not want to buy this originally. I was very hesitant because I thought it wouldn’t be any good. Wow was I wrong. This game is an AMAZING game targeted for kids but one that is silly and fun for adults. However, with that being said, I’m really torn on how to review this game because while the gameplay is 5 stars for me (not just reviewing as a kids game but an adult dexterity game), the components are truly sub par, and not of high quality. For a more expensive Haba game, this is a disappointing discovery.Let’s begin with the gameplay. Wow. The game play is actually great. This masquerades as a kids game on the surface, but is really an interesting dexterity/strategy game that adults can play and have fun with. So cool. Yes you knock over barrels, but there is so much strategy in where you put them - not only for yourself, but also the person who goes after you. You really want to think about your strategy in the dexterity part because that then sets up the “worker placement” part. What a unique concept. This is unlike any game I have ever played. The kids had fun, the adults had fun, and it was a game that is a fun dexterity filler for just adults even. What a game........ if only the components were better, this would have been an easy 5 for me.As one of Habas more expensive games, the quality here is a real let down. First off, the box on the inside is ungluing in the corner already, even upon receipt of the game. The cardboard items that you punch out (other than the ships) were semi separating before playing game 1. The ships are cool, but you can barely store them in the large box half built (takes some planning - I store the game board pieces in the middle and the ships along the edge) because if you keep taking them apart you know they are going to have a short lifespan (tip, use some quality glue to attach the sides to the bottom, on the bottom side of the ship - they will look really nice and withstand play well) especially since they already want to come apart and don’t like to stay together which is ugh. From a gameplay perspective the ships are bad though because you want to know how many coins other players have, which can affect your strategy and you are supposed to put the coins in the ships which blocks your visibility.......seems kind of counter intuitive. Another issue with organization is, how about some baggies for components?!?!?!? One baggie for the coins (nice plastic ones at least that look cool) only? Come on. Lastly, like I have seen from some other reviewers , it would have been nice to have a better piece to bat the ball with. I hope the cardboard cutout lasts, but since some of the cardboard pieces are already not so great, I have very little faith, especially as a kids game.Would I recommend this? I am conflicted here because it is really fun to play on many levels. People laugh and enjoy the game a lot, which is what game time is really all about. It is just a great time. But it also costs as much as many other games with waaaaaaay better components. I am going to kind of cheat here and say...maybe. You might want this game because it is a blast to play, but you also need to be prepared for pieces to fall apart and not last, and know that you might have to make some fixes to the game pieces. I look forward to playing this a lot in the future with my kids and friends (a pleasant surprise hit!) and hope it lasts. I just don’t expect it to though sadly, and when it falls apart I’ll likely be tossing it out unfortunately.

Fast and fun
Good game, easy and quick to play. Not too much depth, but enough to entertain the kids and much more fun than strictly luck based games.

Good fun for all the family
Great game for 5-7 year olds and the grown ups enjoy it too. We reach for this game regularly in our family and each time the winner is different.
