Volcanic Stone Statue Quan Yin (Kwan Yin) White (each)

This is a beautiful piece which I have lived with for a year now. I love it as much today as I did when I first took it out of the shipping package. It arrived very well packed by the way. It has an amazingly calm presence. The expression on her face is unusual, perhaps because she has a more modern Western countenance which may make her more accessible to us. The volcanic stone is textured and gives her an earthy look. Because it is a rough stone some of the details such as her hands are more awkward than the porcelain or metal figures we usually see. At the same time the composition of her body and her lotus cushion or throne are classic. I like the fact that the piece was made by craftsmen in Indonesia where the stone comes from.It is about 13 inches high, 7 inches from back to front and 7 inches from side to side. I wouldn't use it outside in a garden because the stone looks very porous to me, but I think you could probably use it there if it was inside a small structure that kept it dry.

I ordered the statue not expecting to like what came, I've found that clever PR make things sold online better than what they are. BUT when the statue came it was well packed, larger than expected, very heavy, sculpted beautifully and absolutely beautiful. There is a magical quality of this work of art that speaks volumes of the care that went into creating it and sending it to me. I just love it.

This statue is absolutely gorgeous. It was to be a surprise for my mother, My heart broke when she sent me the photos of the statue with it's head detached. She was just speechless as was I. It was so poorly packaged it had no support for the head, so of course it broke in transit. How I wish the vendor was closer to home, I'd go and get it myself. If it had not been broken it would have been yet another 5 stars.

Expression is lovely and hard to come by . I've looked for a long time . Naturally it is hand carved in volcanic stone, so it is not as detailed as say a wood carving. The expression comes through all the same . Her nose was very slightly chipped but not too noticeably . She was very well packaged. I had to dust her off with a dry paintbrush and she was good to go .Very happy .

Really love but am afraid to put it outdoors. I know it’s supposedly Lava rock but it looks as if it would erode in the elements
