My Piggies Love this Hay
I’ve been buying this hay for my guinea pigs for at least a year. Most of what’s available in stores is Timothy but my piggies don’t like it. There’s nothing wrong with it; it’s just not their preference. I’ve tried different brands but they just don’t care for it.They go crazy for this orchard hay! They just devour it! It’s fresh and smells heavenly. And, the boxes arrive earlier than they say the majority of the time.Thank you!!

Bunny loves it! Repeat customer and bunny approved!
The media could not be loaded. My bunny loves this hay! I always buy the 10 lb size which will last me about 6 weeks. Nicely packed—dense not loosely packed. Not dusty at all. Haven’t tried other brands since my bunny seems to like this one. For the price and convenience of not having to go to the pet store to buy it,it’s definitely worth it! Each order arrives with a cute postcard from the company, which adds a nice touch!8/20 UPDATE: I ordered a 10 lb box as usual, but when it arrived, I noticed the hay was very brown and dry and contained little wheat-looking seedlings, not the usual fresh green. (See photos: box of hay with browner hay.) Thought it was a fluke, requested a refund and replacement, and that too, arrived brown and dry. When I gave it to my bunny though, she initially sniffed it for awhile, but ate it, too my relief. I called SPS directly, told her my situation, and she explained that they changed their hay supplier, which they found has “lighter colored” hay with more seedlings. She assured me that it was all safe, but that they are looking to change the supplier again mid-October. If you still have an old batch of SPS hay, she did advise initially mixing that with this new batch of hay to gradually introduce it to your pet. While I am happy my bunny likes this even still, I do prefer the other supplier, which was greener, had less seedlings, and contained longer hay strands. Nevertheless, SPS is my (and my bunny’s) #1 choice!!10/20 UPDATE: Well, SPS must have gotten quite a few complaints about the change in quality because I just reordered another box, and it’s back to fresh, green, beautiful hay again!!! We spoke and they listened....THANK YOU, SPS!!! Although my bunny still seemed to enjoy the brown hay just the same, this newer one just looks healthier and better for my bun. The last photo shows the new hay. It’s totally green with long strands, no seedlings, no dust, and no brown hay. And talk about fresh!! Compare this to my other brown hay photo. I really hope SPS stays with this new hay supplier. Thank you, SPS, for providing such high quality hay at a great value!

My buns love this hay!
I got the 10lb option for about $40 and my buns love it! I have two buns who love their orchard hay. I was buying them the full cheeks orchard hay but petsmart is never consistent in having it available and they hate the oxbox orchard hay. They devoured this hay the moment I put it in their litter box. I also buy this companies pellets for my buns and they love their pellets too! Great company for rabbit needs.

Coming from a previous Oxbow Timothy Hay owner, Pleasantly surprised!
First off, the piggies LOVE the taste of this one! Even if there's hay on the ground they still end up devouring every little bit of it!! THe oxbow timothy hay, they would ALWAYS leave some on the ground and it would frustrate me because that hay is pricy!Even if I do throw some away from it being on the ground, there's SO much hay that comes with this product that it's a REALLY good value that it's really okay for me to throw some out. This is a great alternative to Timothy Hay (I bought other Timothy from Amazon) and I would sneeze SO much! I sneeze significantly less with this Orchard Hay.The only downside is the hay itself some is slightly yellow, I'd say probably 80% is solid and acceptable quality, 10% really green and 10% is mixed in somewhat yellow, but not completely dead. I've had this last for over a month and it hasn't degraded much so I think it will last for awhile.Pros:Great Tasty hay for my piggies! Surpirsingly since they're slightly picky on Timothy hay (tried other Amazons and didnt work. Oxbow Timothy was 60% like / 40% throw on the ground.AMAZING Value for how much you get and the qualityDecent box for storageQuality of hay is acceptable/solid.No sneezing for me!Cons:Slightly dead hayMessy too upon opening/picking up hay. It gets EVERYWHERE!Highly recommend at least trying a box to see if it'll work for your piggies especially if you're sneezing too much!

Quality Hay
My guinea pigs and I are happy! I was a long time buyer of a well-known small animal hay manufacturer, however; over the past couple years the hay has been awful. Short pieces and very dusty (in oz bags and lbs). I was nervous about buying this brand as I have tried other hay brands the past yr too (dusty and short as well) and didn’t want to waste more money, especially as this brand is a bit more expensive than the others. But I gave it a try and glad I did. The hay is fresh, and the majority are long strands (not as long as hay we all got prior 2 yrs ago) but enough to fluff up for them to burrow in and under. And, while it does have dust it’s the least amount I’ve seen compared to the past few brands I’ve bought. If the price stays the same I will buy this brand again.

Buns favorite hay
This hay is soft and fresh, smells great. My rabbits absolutely love it, and I'm happy to have found something they will eat enough of

20lb in April 2024, Brown & Brittle
This was the first time I ordered the 20lb box instead of the 10lb. The quality was terrible. I will not buy the 20lb box again! A fourth to a third of the hay was brown and brittle, and there were quite a few seed heads mixed in with the hay. This box arrived in April and the hay was visibly MUCH OLDER than the 10lb. hay I purchased in February, which my bunny was finishing up. My only issue with the 10lb hay was a couple dried grasshoppers and a little bit of super short stalks/dust. But at least the majority of that hay had been green and fresh!

THE best orchard hay!!
This is my go-to when it comes to hay! It's always amazing quality and nice and green! Which when it comes to Orchard hay is SO hard to find. I have hayfever which makes handling Timothy hay difficult so I opt for this instead because it hardly effects me at all. 100% recommend this for anyone with bad allergies.I'll happily keep buying from this family run business. Not only do they provide high quality products but they're educated on the small animals they provide for too which is refreshing.

Fresh, fragrantly rich scent that keeps drawing me to it... & my rabbit likes it too!
I Love the characteristically Beautifull Orchard scent which surely speaks of the freshness of which i am impressed that "Small, pet select" uniquely values.I am looking forward to experiencing the fragrance of the Timothy hay! I have tried many hays & have not purchased any that, like this one' seems like it has Just been picked & dried yesterday. It is good to have a variety of hays & the great quality over quantity of this purchase of Orchard hay, I would imagine reflects on the smaller than average size of bag... But..... I also imagine that it wouldn't take much of it to liven up a less fragrant hay.So the quality & diversity when mixed with other hays that maybe less palatable to your small animal is something to consider.... Or even the possibility of the beginning of adequate hay eating for an animal that's not been too keen up to now... but "Could" possibly find this irresistible.
