Cute Quilts for Kids

I do have a few comments to make. If you are handpiecing this you will need to make some changes. This is for machine piecing and you cannot go buy the directions in the book for hand piecing which is what I am doing. i am making 2 quilts in the book right now. I will post pics when finished. I am almost done piecing the first quilt. I am doing the girl version of the cover quilt and they want you to cut off a big chunk of one side to square it up before you put on the borders. It goes against everything I was taught to have untied ends. Also do not go buy the yardage required. It asks for twice the amount required for backing. I had noticed this on the last quilt I made. Then they pieced the back. No need as all the quilts are small enough to use any material without piecing. The designer said the publisher required it so the quilt could fit on a machine quilting frame. I also added a bit to the borders on mine to make it a bit bigger. I did not strip piece my top either as I believe in tied ends on every piece. It has taken me 2 weeks to piece my top and all I have left to do it make my flowers for hte borders and I will start on butterfly kisses. > I will update this review when finished with both quilts.

I had seen a little quilt done with one of the quilts in this book and thought it would be so cute for one of the many of our daughter's friends who were starting their families now. There are so many of them in this book that I would like to make. thanks for a great book. So many of the kid quilt books are a little boring, but this one is just so much fun.

This book has a nice variety of quilts and not all gender specific. And they are cute! The soft cover book arrived fast and unscathed. If I were still teaching quilting classes, this would be among the books from which I would choose

I'm currently using the car pattern for my nephew's quilt, he will be 3 in June, I am accamidating the quilt with boats, planes, trains, & this car pattern. I sure hope he likes the quilt i'm making for him.Anne

Gave me several ideas, but I expected just a little more subject matter. I thought it could have had one or two more qwuilt ideas for the price of the book.

I wanted a book with children's quilt patterns, and am happy with the instructions and ideas for making various sizes. Thank you!
