Product description CD packaged in a standard jewel case with a ten page fold-out booklet. .com As if the genre didn't have enough stigmas to transcend, countless nostalgic compilations have done disco additional disservice by reducing the canon to a handful of obvious tunes trotted out endlessly. Fortunately, by including lesser-known gems like the Gibson Brothers' "Que Sera Mi Vida" next to classics by Sylvester, Dan Hartman, and Chic, the music supervisors of 54 have assembled irrefutable proof that the late '70s weren't the musical wasteland those idiots who torched their Donna Summer LPs claimed. However, the producers apparently weren't entirely immune to the commercial leanings that undermined disco via overexposure; program your CD player to skip the annoying cut-and-paste medley "Studio 54" and Mary Griffin's updated "Knock on Wood," which pales next to Amii Stewart's chart-topping 1979 reading. --Kurt B. Very Good Disco!
I originally owned Studio 54, Vol. 2: Music From The Miramax Motion Picture, which I LOVED, so when I had the opportunity to own Volume 1, I was overjoyed! I love the various original disco tracks, including "The Boss" by Diana Ross, "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)" by Chic, and of course "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" by the great Sylvester!

Like that Polyester!
Wow! Talk about a flashback! This Cd makes you think you are actually in Studio 54. One of my regrets is that I never actually got to see the real Studio 54 back in the 70's. I heard all the stories and tales. This is a great Cd to add to your disco collection if you are a fan of disco. I don't know why people hate disco so much. They had some good dance music back in the day and people had fun. Good times.

This is a great CD to add to your collection
This is a great CD to add to your collection, especially if you are one who was lucky to go to Studio 54 in New York as I did, and lived - grew up in - and so forth the "disco era" which I did very much!!!

Just enough to take you back to the good times
This CD provides just enough music to give you flask backs to the good ole "disco" times. The delivery was swift, and without any problems. I look forward to doing business with this seller again. Oh, btw....did I say the CD was inexpensive? Well, it most certainly was....nice!

Disco lives!!
If you are from the Disco Era or just love that music (and who doesn't?) then you will love this album. Every song brings back so many memories (I am a 70's grad) and I enjoy dancing to every one! It is also a really great CD to listen to while you do your walking to keep you moving and at a brisk pace!!

The Stars of 54 Vol.1
Studio 54 (Extended & Theatrical Versions) [Blu-ray] , the 1998 movie about the legendary night club in New York City was a star studded affair and I'm not talking about just the actors. The biggest star of the film was it's music. This review is about the first of two available soundtrack CD's.If you've seen the film (if you haven't, why not?), you will know that one of the stars is the soundtrack, pumped up with some of the best dance music released in the 70s & 80s with a couple of very faithful 1990s re-recordings. There was a major hit single released from the movie's soundtrack, "If You Could Read My Mind" by Stars on 54. That particular track is not on volume one, you'll have to purchase volume two for that song but in no way is it a mark against this fantastic compilation of music on Vol.1. There are a couple of tracks here in their full 12 inch mixes that are quite hard to obtain anywhere else. The song by the Gibson Bros is one prime example. That track in its extended form is very hard to find on cd. The whole album is cheesy to the max, it's absolutely full of hits and I can do nothing more than highly recommend it to you."Yowsah Yowsah Yowsah..."
