Long before Columbus landed in America, hundreds of groups of people had already made their homes here. You may have heard of some of themโlike the Sioux, Hopi, and Seminole. But where did they live? What did they eat? How did they have fun? And where are they today? From coast to coast, learn all about these very first Americans! Review: Great book! - We loved this book. I homeschool a 2nd grader and it was just the perfect amount of information and length as to hold his attention and teach him whatโs absorbable at this age. I felt it was age appropriate and as accurate as it could get for a childrenโs book. I liked how it also ended with the reality of the Europeans taking over the land and how they lost their native lands, without getting into too much gore. Beautiful art work too! Review: Gift - This was purchased as a gift for a young boy age 5. With his parentโs guidance, he will learn more in his interest of the Native American culture. Great graphics, sturdy binding.

Just as shown
Iโve not read this entirely yet but itโs been an informative lil book. It is just as shown. Itโs really nice to see books made on American Indians. Too bad there isnโt more books on the subject available, plus some for smaller children. Iโd like to share this topic to my grandsons so they can visualize and understand their heritage.

This book is an Accelerated Reader book at 4.0 level. The book has great illustrations that seem realistic yet colorful and pleasing to children. The text is interesting and realistic. This book gives one to two page introduction to several Native American tribes. Each page is about one paragraph long (4 to 6 sentences). The information is not hostile to Native Americans. Some history books do not present the information realistically and are written from a white man's fictional perspective almost. This author did a fair job of being unbias. At the end, they tell the truth that Native peoples were put on reservations. My husband is 100% Pueblo. He was not offended by this book.

Great book for 6 year old
Bought this book for my 6 year old grandson and he really has enjoyed it...and learned a lot about Native Americans from the book. This is a great age for kids to learn things, just seeds of ideas that can shape their entire life. This book is well illustrated, the text is interesting to kids, descriptive and it is amazing what parts of the story they will focus. I recommend this book for those who would like to guide their children into an interest in native American culture.

Cheap resource
I bought the paperback version. A smaller and thinner book than I expected but useful for our topic work, as shows many different types of Native Americans. And at just over ยฃ3, it's a good value resource. I also bought the Cowboys book which is a similar format.
