Amazing Battery Life!!!
So my "goto" SmartWatch was an Asus Zenwatch 2. I love it, but as there have been at least three generations of SmartWatch evolution since, I decided to test the waters and see what else could be had for under a hundred bucks.First off, a general disclaimer ... you should realize that I have a no name Android Phone (Maxwest). If you have a name brand Android phone (with it's highly modified version of the OS), or an iPhone, then your experience may be completely different! And now for the actual review:I was drawn to this particular model because someone recommended it for sleep tracking, which greatly interested me. But here's a word to the wise about these "no name" devices. Don't get so hung up on the brand names. Focus on the actual model number of the watch instead. The watch I received doesn't say "GoKoo" anywhere. I have a different GoKoo watch. They come in very distinctive boxes and have their brand prominently displayed both on the box and the documentation. Clearly this wasn't that. This was, however, a model "SN80" ... which is sold under many different brand names, GoKoo just being one. And the name "GoKoo" means nothing to me, so I couldn't care less.Be that as it may, my initial impression was terrible. The first instruction is to scan the QR Code in the instructions to download the software. I tried about half a dozen QR scanners, including a couple that I've used to scan many other codes in the past, but nothing worked on that tiny code, printed on very low quality stock. I even tried using a flashlight to artificially supply additional light, but that didn't work either.Further in the instructions, however, it mentioned DaFit. So I looked up DaFit in the Google Play store, and sure enough there it was. Your phone is probably better at scanning QR codes than mine, but I'd still highly recommend just grabbing the DaFit app from the Google Play store. That literally took seconds and made me feel stupid for all the time I wasted fumbling around with that QR code. From here, my impression instantly shot upward. As a "tech guy" I've synced MANY watches to phones. NEVER have I had an experience as favorable as this one. It was even simpler than the instructions suggested. Once I turned the watch on, I just opened the DaFit app, went to the "Watch" icon at the bottom and it asked if I wanted to attach "SN80", which it had already found automatically. All I did was click "Yes" in the app ... and the phone and watch have been synced (without ever losing connection, btw) for 10 days since.Prior to this, I had charged the watch for a few hours, as they suggested for it to receive a full charge. I have now had the watch on my wrist for 10 days ... and the battery is still showing greater than 80% capacity. That's absolutely insane! I know people with Apple Watches that they charge daily, and although I could get by with going 2-3 days with my ZenWatch, I pretty much put it in the cradle every night as well. This is a whole different experience entirely! It isn't long on cute watch faces. I have dozens for my ZenWatch, as they have several libraries that rival even what's available for Apple. But there are a handful to choose from, and there's even an option to "Edit" one of them. Ostensibly, you can use this to create your own watch face from a picture in your phone. But I'm guessing and haven't tried that yet. The instructions don't make that very clear. If that turns out to be the case, it'll be a favorite for the wife, as I got her one too. <G>It also isn't a "computer on your wrist" like a Samsung or Apple watch, complete with a store full of apps that you'll probably never use but look cool because you have as many buttons on your wrist as most people have on their phones. If that's what you're looking for, then this isn't the watch for you.Instead, this watch does only a handful of things, but it does them quite well. Swipe the screen up once, and you'll see how many steps you've walked today, as well as your current goal. Swipe it again, it'll show how much time the watch detected you sleeping, keep swiping, and it'll will subsequently measure your heart rate, show your blood oxygen level, and also local weather. There's also a screen for various training modes (so that you can inform the watch that you're engaged in some specific form of physical exercise) but I haven't played with that yet. It'll also do standard "SmartWatch" things, like show you your phone calls, messages and other alerts from the "old ball and chain" on your hip. What I have found is that the Blood Pressure and Heart Rate readings are fairly consistent with more conventional measurements. I would recommend doing either of them at least a couple of times in succession (it only takes a moment) however. Occasionally you'll get an outlier reading that's either very high or very low. I think it has to do with just how the contacts at the back of the watch are lying against your skin at that very moment, but if you hold still and lay your hand flat for a moment, it generally produces consistent (and accurate) results. That's great if you have cause to monitor either of these things. Getting a reading has never been easier. As mentioned earlier, I was more interested in the sleep tracking ... which is an amazing feature of this watch given it's incredible battery life. You don't have to do anything, the watch will detect when you're sleep, for how long, as well as how you drift through the stages of sleep. All of this is displayed only in summary form on the watch itself, but if you open the DaFit app, it shows everything in greater detail, and tracks your readings/progress from day to day. It's nothing out of the ordinary that you wouldn't expect from any other SmartWatch at this point, but I found the display to be very easy to understand and manipulate. The DaFit app gets high marks in this regard.About the only thing I didn't like was the band that it shipped with. It looks sporty enough, but I found it much too uncomfortable to wear to bed. Fortunately, the watch features a very standard band width. All of my ZenWatch 2 bands fit it perfectly, which means that there are literally hundreds of different bands you can choose from right here on Amazon. I opted for a genuine leather band (that I purchased from Amazon for the ZenWatch quite some time ago) that has a black metal clasp. It goes very well with the watch. Stylish and comfortable at the same time. I also had some minor issues with getting the display to properly recognize all of my swiping motions at first ... but either I or the watch have adapted since, as this doesn't seem to be an issue any longer. So if you're interested in tracking your sleep, or perhaps would like a secondary SmartWatch to wear on days when you forget to charge your Samsung or Apple, or maybe you just like the idea of having a watch whose actual wear time can be measured in days instead of hours, this is definitely worth checking out. I'd call it my inexpensive tech find of 2019!

Pretty good watch for the money but mediocre app. Notifications don't work properly.
I wanted to dip my toe in the smartwatch/fitness tracker trend without spending a ton of money in case these devices had not matured beyond the "novelty" stage. After a lot of wading through Amazon reviews, I decided on this one. Here is my evaluation so far after several days of use. If I don't return it, I will update this review in a few weeks.Pros:1. AWESOME battery life. Still at 80% charge after 3 days.2. High resolution watch screen is great to look at and really shows off the 3D fitness apps.3. Good variety of reasonably accurate fitness apps for this price point. Blood pressure and heart rate sensor are reasonable accurate and watch also tracks steps, training exercises, sleep and blood oxygen.4. Four possible watch faces stored at a time. Two of them are permanent, a third is permanent but customizable with your own background and a fourth watch face can be downloaded through the Da Fit app from many, many choices with a wide variety of styles.5. Probably the most comfortable watchband I have ever owned. It hardly feels like you are wearing it.Cons1. The display time is very short and not customizable. It is slightly annoying to keep pushing the button in order to read all the information on some of the screens. An additional one or two seconds in the display time would be great.2. This is likely more of an issue about the Da Fit app than the watch itself but since they are a package you are stuck with if you buy the watch, I am including it in this review. The notifications don't work for SMS or MMS messages or for email on my Samsung Galaxy S9 phone. This despite carefully checking to make sure the Da Fit app has all the appropriate permissions and settings, reinstalling the app several times, clearing the cache, restarting the phone and everything else I can think of . I do get notifications regarding other apps on the phone, just not text messages or emails. This issue is the only reason I am thinking of returning the watch. I am going to do some additional research to try to solve the problem but if I come up dry, that may be a deal-breaker that causes me to return it and spend a little more money on smartwatch with a better app.**** Update 04/17/2020After 3 weeks of use here is my update on the above.1. The battery life is truly awesome! I got three full weeks of use out of the first charge and it is now topping up for only the second time.2. The notification now sort of work - sometimes - but not consistently. After the first week, sms messages started popping up occasionally. and now average about 50% of the time. I get email notifications about 75% of the time and I never get any phone call notifications. I am pretty sure that these problems are all with the app, rather than the phone.I have decided to keep the watch since the health and training apps are good and the watch looks nice and works as a watch but as smartwatches go, this one won't light any fires.

Great Budget Option!
For those of you coming from a high end fitness tracker, this may be a disappointment. I replaced a Fitbit Alta HR and this is what I’ve found:The Fitbit app is way betterThe Fitbit does the passive measurements better (heart rate, etc.)The Fitbit is more intuitive (when you look at it, transitioning, etc.)However, the Fitbit cost quite a bit more, and this watch has much more functionality. If you’re not looking to get super granular with health tracking and want a nice looking watch with the ability to read messages, have alarms, and do some fitness tracking, this is great. If you are super serious about your health, get a more expensive name brand option. One thing I will say is I noticed in the reviews some of the hash marks seemed a little crooked or off center. Mine are not as bad as some of the pictures but if you’re OCD about those things, you may want a different option. Mine are off just a tad and depending on which watch face I am using, shows more than others.I’m not sold on the carbon fiber look body. I thought it looked nice in pictures but looks cheap in person. The face also isn’t as durable as my Fitbit- the glass/plastic scratched right away.Battery life is fantastic! Much better than my Fitbit was.Overall, for $50 this is a great option.
