A Must-Read for Anyone in Sales or Relationship Building
As someone who has been in sales for more than a decade and a half, I always appreciate a book that shows me how I can improve my sales performance or my relationships with others. This book does both.In Invisible Influence, Kevin Hogan offers up not the usual rehashed information about influence and persuasion. Instead, he provides a fresh look into little known techniques that not only make you money but also lead to stronger, long term relationships that provide ongoing value on both a personal and professional level. We've all heard that people buy from those they know, like, and trust. In these difficult and highly competitive times, it can be harder to build that trust. Dr. Hogan shows you ways to connect with people who you might initially feel have nothing in common with you. For example, do you know the one easily identifiable thing that will make people feel an instant camaraderie with you? Or why names are so important? Kevin lays it all out for you in a way that makes sense and is easy to implement immediately.Probably what I like most about the book is its authenticity. I've never been a "tricky" or "flashy" salesperson. I've always considered myself a relationship builder and a person who truly cares about the customer. From my point of view, I work for the customer, not against him. The transaction must be a win for everyone involved in order to be successful. What I really love is that Dr. Hogan comes from the same place. He doesn't preach manipulative sales tactics, nor does he encourage the "white lies" that I've seen some sales trainers write about. He's all about what I call heart centered selling and relationship building. This is ethical influence that is designed to better your life as well as the lives of others.Invisible Influence may be Kevin's best book ever, and that's saying a lot. I highly recommend it for anyone who has relationships with other people (which is everyone)!

New Testament of Persuasion
Having read and attended most, if not all of Kevin Hogan's books, seminars from the 1990's to the present, I still consider his book "The Psychology of Persuasion" to be his 'bible' on influence and persuasion. I've read and now re read his latest book,"Invisible Influence" and would say that his 'bible is now complete - 'Psychology of Persuasion' being the old testament and 'Invisible' being the new testament. While many of the foundations of POP are to found again in Invisibile, it's not simply 'repackaged', but presented framed in recent and quantified research that makes it relevant to today's world of digitalized elevator pitches and mediatized relationships for whom attention spans have dwindled.Kevin writes like he speaks - and its a taste that once acquired - develops a sophisticated palate that sets high standards for comparison. Few other authors on influence & persusaion can can tease out the sublties of influence & persuasion into recepies that even the novice user can use like Kevin can.

Invisible Influence Delivers Higher Sales Records and Better Relationships
First, know that this review is a little bit biased. I am already an avid fan of anything Kevin Hogan has written ever since a girlfriend who was a Sales VP in San Francisco lent me her copy of The Psychology of Persuasion: How To Persuade Others To Your Way Of Thinking [If you're in Sales and Marketing at all, you'll want your own copy for your book library.]. Not only was it chuck full of super intelligent sales help, it was also practical. I could immediately go use it and apply it in the Real World of sales, directly with leads and prospects, turning them into customers. That unique combination of super intelligent material framed with Real World ways you could immediately and practically use it in your sales career has been a Kevin Hogan Hallmark.Invisible Influence delivers that same experience. Only this time, unlike all too many authors who just regurgitate the same material over and over again, just with a different frame, in Invisible Influence, Kevin Hogan delivers brand new material. He is constantly reading the Social Psychology academic journals studying human behavior and what we really do, not what we say we will do, and then again, delivers the best of that to us in practical ways we can immediately use it.In Chapter 1 on Intentional Reality, the material and exercise on developing and bettering your own expectant mind will impact both your sales quota attainment and surpassing this quarter alone. It will also benefit you in your romantic sphere, as well.Whether you love her or hate her, you will love the material in Chapter 3 on Kim Kardashian's Connectors and sound and names will intrigue you and reveals some fascinating influence triggers which you can use either in business selling or personal romance situations. As if Invisible Influence was already chock full of cutting edge content that you can use to increase your sales this quarter, Dr. Hogan offers us "A 10-Step Influence Template" at the end of the book to make our influence and selling lives even easier. If you are business owner, buy a copy for every salesperson in your salesforce. If you're a sales manager, buy copies for everyone on your team and what your quarterly quota surpassing sore.April BraswellAs seen in Dating For Dummies and DatingAdvice Expert Columnist

The real invisible influence
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Aloha, I am Scott S. Bell and I got a chance to read this book while on vacation on Oahu. There were plenty of aha moments while reading this book. The first chapter including pages 12 - 13 about identity were the most surprising. My (your) identity has just as much to do with or more than the actual influence process. After studying the influence and persuasion process I have found Kevin's work whether on his cd programs, written in books or at live events to be top notch.

None Better When It Comes to Influence!
I've followed this author for over 15 years and never been disappointed with his material. There is no fluff and no filler. He is 100% focused in giving the best cutting edge information, often not even available anywhere else. Not only does he gather information from all over the world, he does his own research and is ruthless in making sure it is reliable. I highly recommend this author and his excellent books.

I love this guy's style
2016.09.02 - I'm only into chapter two and - I love this guy and his style! I'll update my review as I progress through the book. My only gripe thus far is the "template" at the end of chapter one makes little sense to me. Spending 7 days, half an hour a day writing 5 pages - I get that - it sets a routine and expectiation of doing the hard yards. No problem with that at all. But the instructions are vague and probably impossible. Mr. Hogan suggests we "record why all those things happened in the past". All what things? Presumably the things we didn't want to have happened. If we knew the 'why' and our part in their occurence I doubt we'd be reading his book. If anyone else has poiinters on what he's getting at I'm quite willing to admit the failure is mine in failing to comprehend his intent. Really enjoying the book though. Onwards.

Interesting Read!
This book is very interesting, the delivery was mighty quick, like the following day! I rate it 4 stars only because the concepts in the book were not mind blowing to me but I thoroughly enjoyed reading Kevin Hogan. 4 stars is really good. 5 stars would be for a book that would totally change my outlook on things or aspects in my life in general. It is a very good read after watching the news, or if you are studying psychology and or sociology.

Want to Hear YES More? Fantastic fun read full of tips that will help you Influence Anyone
Imagine somebody offered you ten $100 bills for $500. It's an immediate $500 profit for you if you take it. Yet - not a single person accepted this no brainer of an offer. Why is that? There are many reasons people say no and most of them are not the reasons why you think they say no! You might think you messed something up in your presentation but in fact it's just because it was at 4pm and no matter how good of a job you did the answer was always going to be no because of WHEN you asked.Read this book and you're going to have 22 ways to reduce their resistance to your offer (and increase the chances they say yes) AND you're going to learn 55 incredible techniques to use to present any offer. One of my favourite techniques in this book is how to respond to someone when they say "I can't afford it ..." It's fun, surprising and actually pretty effective. I tested it out this weekend on my husband and it worked like a charm but please don't tell him I did it ;) I'm seeing a lot more great pairs of shoes in my future. This book is a fun, interesting and useful read. You get the studies that you'll always get in Kevin Hogan's influence and persuasion books and you'll get some pretty cool templates to follow to prepare your mind for success (getting the yes!) and for asking for what you want.If you're familiar with Kevin Hogan's work or if you've done a lot of reading in the genre there may be a few things you've heard or read before, but most of this book is totally original stuff that I haven't seen anywhere else. Here's a few cool little tidbits:>> Want to know why Victoria Secret sells a $4,000,000 bra each year? It's one of the cornerstones of their successful sales strategy and it's a technique that any business can implement (it's explained exactly how you can do it and why it works in the book).>> Are you mailing out a letter with a request in it? Want to know how to get a 76% increase in compliance to your request? It's a ridiculously simple solution that will cost a penny or two. Every salesperson is going to want to know that one. Again -exactly how and why is outlined in the book.>> Not in business or in sales? If you just want to hear yes more - this book is absolutely for you! There's a strategy for buying a girl a drink to get her phone number that would knock any girl's socks off (or guy I bet!). If you want to get more dates, or just get to do more things you want on your dates (like pick the restaurant or the movie), this will be your new guide book. Most studies and techniques are explained with business AND personal examples so ANYONE can implement what's taught in this book.I'm struggling to think of anyone who would not benefit from reading and implementing this book but I do have to warn you: "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" by Meatloaf will probably get stuck in your head ...(I posted this review on Amazon.com as well but there weren't any Canadian reviews here so I thought I would share it here too - hope it helps!)

Incredibly intresting book
This is a good read, giving you an insight into how people are influenced. It is not a manual on how to manipulate people!
