Very unflattering "portly" cut, and too thin to be of much use
For some reason, these vests are tight in the chest and fat in the stomach. So it makes you look like you have a big stomach bulging out and no chest. The opposite of the look most men want. I happen to have a significantly smaller stomach than chest, and this vest tents out over my stomach and makes me look very overweight. After putting it on and noticing this, I went back and looked at the pictures on Amazon and you can kind of see this in the picture, but not as much as it actually happens in person. Also, the vest is way too small in the chest and shoulders, even though it bulges out over the stomach. So order up if you want to be able to actually move around in it and not feel like a sausage. BTW the material is very thin, not much added warmth.

Good for the money, not that warm though...
It's a pretty good vest, but the filling could be much thicker. As is, I will be surprised if there is any loft left after a season. I would say its a lightweight vest, not a medium weight, since the amount of insulation is about that of one of those quilted shirts, maybe a bit thicker. Like other reviewers have pointed out, it has a weird fit where it's kind of tight in the chest and neck, but bulky in the belly, like it was designed for Winnie the Pooh. I'm also having a issue with the shoulders sticking up in a boxy look, something I'm hoping will go away with wear if I keep it. It's ok for the money, but i wouldn't use it for skiing or any activity requiring a decent layer of insulation. I'm not sure if I'll even hold on to it or not, and in a any case it's nothing special, just a cheap vest without much insulation. I'm less than impressed for my needs, but if someone lives somewhere fairly warm it would be a fairly good deal if you are doing something strenuous and are worried about overheating.

What a surprise
Have you ever felt like you've won the lottery even though you didn't buy a ticket but instead bought an Amazon Essentials vest? That's how I feel right now. This things punches so far above its price point it's hard to see how they can do it. The collar is soft fleece, the insulation weight is more than expected, the exterior pockets are fleece lined and it has an inside pocket. Sure there's no drawstring at the waist and the pockets don't have zippers (a snap or velcro do that job). I DON'T CARE. The fit is great, the cost is right and the initial quality seems legit. Buy some for your friends, enemies, neighbors and loved ones. I cannot say enough good things about this and even if it only lasts a year or two, it'll be worth every one of those few pennies I paid.

Basic Vest
The vest was a little bulkier than was expected. I liked the fuzzy lined pockets which will come in handy in the cold weather. It’s still warm outside so I’m not able to comment on its effectiveness in keeping one warm.

Vests Are Nice
Here in the Arizona desert, it gets chilly in the winter. This lightweight, no-frills vest is much nicer than I expected. Its full-length zipper goes all the way to the top, converting the vest into a neck-warmer, too. It has two pockets for keeping hands warm.Cons: stuff falls out of the pockets. Don't trust them to hold valuables. I usually have a plastic shopping bag in there for when we visit the dog park or go on walks to pick up the dog's business. The bag constantly falls out. Not sure why. Oh well. Not a big deal. When I'm working in the garage this vest allows my arms full motion while keeping my trunk warm. And its not too bulky: I can layer a light sweatshirt over the vest to increase warmth.

Good for fall and spring golf
What a good value! This well made, right sized, Warm vest works well for me as part of my cold weather layers for golf. Used it on a morning round with a wind breaker over it. The temperature was mid 40's and the wind was blowing 18 to 30 mph, but I was warm in it.

Nice vest
I have unfortunately had to face a winter in upstate NY in short sleeves and no coat due to a months long arm brace. I was dubious that a vest could due much to keep me from freezing all the time, but this thing is really warm. It does a good job of keep my core warm, it's lightweight, has ample pocket space, and best of all, the zipper actually operates smoothly (I'm so tired of the increasing decline in zipper quality in clothing). It doesn't hurt that it looks pretty good too. Glad that I bought this.
