What makes HARIO V60 Filter Papers different from other coffee filters?

Designed specifically for the HARIO V60, these filters provide a precise fit and controlled flow to help achieve a clean, balanced cup. Their carefully selected paper pulp and Japanese manufacturing ensure consistent performance from brew to brew.

What is the difference between White and Brown HARIO filters?

White filters are oxygen-bleached and offer a clean, neutral taste. Brown (Misarashi) filters are unbleached and may give a slightly more natural paper character. Rinsing before brewing helps minimise any paper taste.

Does the filter affect coffee taste?

Yes. The filter can influence the coffee’s clarity, body, and overall taste by affecting flow rate and how much oil and fine coffee particles pass through. HARIO V60 filters are designed to support a clean, balanced cup.

Should I rinse the HARIO filter before brewing?

Yes. Rinsing the HARIO filter with hot water before brewing helps remove any residual paper taste, preheat the dripper, and prepare the filter for brewing. It also helps ensure a clean, consistent cup of coffee.

Are HARIO V60 Filter Papers biodegradable?

Yes. HARIO V60 Filter Papers are made from paper and are biodegradable under suitable composting and environmental conditions. After brewing, dispose of the used filter according to your local waste guidelines.
