Ohsawa Yamaki Organic unpasteurized 2-Yr Soybean Miso - Macrobiotic, Vegan and Kosher - 1 Lb

First time ever using this product, I made a sauce for my egg-foo-yong and it was delicious. It's very thick, even more so than peanut butter, so it really needed to be worked into the tamari and rice-wine vinegar. I did this on the cooktop, while whisking. I added a little organic pure maple syrup and tapioca flour, and had a perfect sauce. Looking forward to using this in many a noodle bowl dish, a glaze for salmon, or working it into mayo for a umami spread for fish sandwiches. A little goes a long way. Packaging says it stays fresh (refrigerated) for a LONG time! Yay! LOVE that it's organic and unpasteurized.

Is there a LIGHT Ohsawa miso paste? Other companies ell light paste for miso soup. I can not find one here. Also there is no way to contact manufacturer or direct link so this got posted as a review.Product was good.

I am the Mrs. I ordered this item because I wanted to try a dark, rich in flavor Miso. It did not disappoint. I tasted it right out of the jar and... oh my... I had to hold back because this is so delicious I wanted to get one spoonful after the other. It smells wonderful, looks beautiful and the taste is outstanding. I love it and am very happy with my order. Definitely recommend it! It will last for a long time since I do have to watch my sodium intake.

I am very like it. It is not very salty. The taste is vey good but the price is expensive.

We add miso to our chicken bone broth soup and this one is absolutely great! We did some research on Miso's and soy sauces a year or so ago and this brand is one of the few that is still making them the traditional ways, with no shortcuts or odd products. You can definitely taste the difference in both their Miso and soy sauce - they both taste amazing!

I was looking for a Kosher option and purchased this. Upon receipt, I did not see the kosher symbol on the label. Item is non-returnable.

thick and rich, i find myself not only making more miso soup but adding it to many different soups upon serving. it's absolutely delicious. this is a dark, almost black, miso. if you are looking for a light colored miso this is not it.

This Miso tastes okay and appears to be very high quality. It dissolves in hot water easily. It make a great cup of soup. I usually have it as a late night hot drink instead of coffee or tea. It works great for me.
