Product came damaged. Wood trim piece is not secured and broken. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to return it, so I’m left with trying to fix it myself.

It's a beautiful piece of wood, but there are some disturbing stains and marks on both sides that do not seem to have to do anything with the wood from the tree. There were some orange stains on either side, neither very large, and was able to get those off with fine sandpaper. I used fine sandpaper on both sides which seemed to help a lot, but there are more noticeable stains that look for all the world like some kind of oil that must have fallen off of a machine (or a saw)? I love the piece overall but will be planning to get a coarser sandpaper to try to remove what looks like machine oil stains. Oh, and I never trust the oil used by companies on their woods so I always after cleaning or sanding off their mineral oil (or whatever) apply a combination of coconut oil and beeswax (which I make by using a double boiler).All that said, the piece of wood minus the oopsies is stunningly beautiful...! For the price I paid I am more than willing to have to work to get the stains off. Stain-free it would have been worth, in my mind, two to three times as much as I paid (which was something like $13.99 plus tax in January 2021).UPDATE: I spent no less than 2 hours of elbox grease sanding down the disturbing oil spots on one side of this. Now I have made a noticeable (by feel) dent in the wood and although what looks like black machine oil on the wood (we are talking a dozen or more spots average 1/4" diameter each) has faded somewhat, it is clear that there is NO HOPE of eliminating the spots. It is otherwise such a beautiful piece of wood, yet every time I look at it I have to say to myself, "Are you REALLY going to offer cheese and grapes to people on this board?"I cannot recommend this piece for anything but NON-FOOD use. It would look nice hanging on the wall or could be used for setting other things on it from small potted plants to whatever, but it is an unhappy choice overall for a cheese or charcuterie board, for which I bought it. I am however using it atop of my wooden bread box. It happens to fit well over it and I have things set atop it -- and for the price I will live with it. There is another board that costs about $5 more -- put out by Lipper International -- that has small wooden legs on it and is more round. I ordered and just received it today and it is beautiful. I ordered the large one and it is 12"x13" (the smallest size of large), but I love it. There are NO machine oil drops on it and the bark on the sides is very secure and it was made in Thailand. I do believe that there was some staining added to it, but not enough to ruin it, and it has been sort of like varnished on the wood by something that is not shiny like I think of varnish being.

Mine came extremely rough on the serving sides and with a patch of bark missing. I like my cutting board that is like this so maybe expected that quality?
