Asvel 7509 Rice Container Bin with Pour Spout Plastic Clear 2KG（White）

Excellent rice container with a nice pour spout. The measuring cup that twist locks to the top is also a nice touch. Been keeping my basmati rice in here for a long time now and haven’t have any issues with moisture or freshness. It held an entire bag of rice and then some.

This Asvel 7509 rice container is exactly what I needed. It’s a good size to store a large bag of rice, and the airtight seal keeps everything fresh and moisture-free. I like that it’s easy to open and close, and it feels sturdy. Plus, I can stack it with other containers in the pantry without it moving around. Very practical for keeping my kitchen organized.

For years many years I bought rice that was in a resealable bag for storage. Or, if I bought rice in a non-resealable bag, I would reuse the resealable bag for that rice. Many times I spilled the rice pouring it out of the bag into a measuring cup. Finally, I bought this storage container and I have been very happy with it. Not only does the container have a nice pour spout to prevent spilling when pouring but it also has a convenient easy removable lid that pops off and serves as a measuring cup. I feel that this container was designed by someone who knows what it's like to cook rice. One convenient container that solved a number of minor inconveniences. Brilliant!

This unit does what it’s designed to do: hold rice, has a measuring cup lid that securely locks and one flat-bottomed side that makes the container stable when laid on its side. I failed to notice the length/height dimensions when I purchased it which is important because, with the lid on and placed on its side, the overall length is greater than the depth of an “average “ cabinet. So, unless you want this thing sitting on your counter (I do not) you are limited to the refrigerator or pantry as out-of-the-way storage options. Holds 4-5lbs of sushi rice, easy to clean and sturdily built.

This is one of those products that you didn't realize you really needed until after you purchased and used it. I often add rice to the meals that I cook. I was always hunting for the 'rice' cup (which is only 3/4 cup) and then trying to scoop what I needed out of a plastic bag full of static electricity (why does rice always build up static?) Then I would spend time chasing down the rice grains that always escaped somewhere between the bag and the rice cooker. No more!! I pick up my Storage Bin with Pour Spout. Unscrew the 'rice' cup (it's only 3/4 cup you know) from the top. Pour out the rice I need and screw the cup back to the top of the Storage Bin. Seriously, it's even easier than it sounds. If you run low on rice, you cut the top off of the plastic bag of new rice, remove the top of the storage bin by opening the two side retaining connections and dump the rice in from the bag. The Bin holds five pounds of rice. They try to confuse you with the kilogram thing, but it's five pounds. If you have a large pantry, you can store it standing up. If your pantry has lower shelves, you can stand it on its narrow side. Either way is easy to handle. The gradations on the cup are very easy to see if you are into partial 'rice' cups (which are only 3/4 of a cup to start with). I can honestly think of no negative comments for this product. If you cook with rice, you need this container.

I lived in Japan for three years and when I saw this container and I saw the brand, I knew it was a quality product as I had purchased this brand before while living in Japan. I read the reviews and despite others saying the container should be modified because the bags of rice in the USA are 5lbs and in Asia they aren't, I bought it anyway because it's a good brand and the ounce difference wasn't a big deal as I would use 2-3 cups of uncooked rice every time I made rice. However when I was ready to fill the container I wasn't making rice so I thought the leftover rice could be put into a smaller container, but that wasn't nescessarry. As the container filled up, I put the lid on and continued to add the remainder of the rice thru the pour spout and tapped the container on my counter a few times and to my surprise, it took the full 5 lbs easily with room to spare. i would think this container would be great to store flour, sugar, beans, cereal and so much more. And I doubt the quality of this brand could be found in a dollar store item, as they have dollar stores in Japan where most of the the items cost 100 yen and I shopped there regularly and they did have quality items but to me this brand is more like a mix of our brands Rubbermaid and Tupperware.

I was looking to replace a 5kg rice retail container I'd been using since around the year 2000. Mainly due to worries over the container not being BPA free. Cue the Asvel 2kg rice storage container as seen here (which is billed as being BPA free). I knew it would take a few weeks to turn up (which it did) so no worries about that. The container itself is very well designed, im my opinion. It means you can buy a big bag or rice and pour 2kg a time into it. A good amount of rice to tide most people over for a while, you won't be rushing to refill the container. There are two places to grip the container, so you're less likely to drop it. The lid is rubber sealed and clips on fairly securely. There is a spout from which to pour the rice into the measuring cup provided, which also doubles as a screw on lid. I'm pleased with my purchase, which I consider to be a good quality product for a reasonable price. It looks smart on a pantry cupboard shelf.
