Yah it doesn't seem like the smoothest or best quality but could be good for kids. I used it and it created some interesting patterns. All in all it was ok. Also a bit heavy as far as paper clay goes

Feels cool (literally)
Dries fast. I'm new to paper clay so not sure if it's all lumpy like this -- or if that's my fault (probably all me). Good price. Fast shipping.

Not as soft as expected
Okay but not as soft as expected. Not light and fluffy. More clay-like.

Four Stars
Daughter used it. She complained that it could have been more moist. Overall it worked for her purposes.

The worst clay I've used so far. Not worth buying.
I've used various polymer clays and air dry clays, this Pearl kind is the worst so far. I bought 2 packs (mine are different than the current product image) because they were under $5, but they aren't even worth that. The clay doesn't adhere to itself, so you can't make a simple ball, for example, without deep cracks inside it (while wet). Forget about trying to make separate pieces stick together; wetting with water, scoring, pressing, and twisting does not make it join at all. You will need to glue it together when it dries most likely. The clay is very dry, thick, and crumbly and very frustrating to work with. I do not recommend this clay for children, I think it would frustrate, discourage, and upset them when the clay doesn't work as it should. If you're looking for cheap clay, Crayola's air dry is much easier to work with and much cheaper for the amount you get. I bought 25lbs of Crayola for $25 (from Walmart) which makes it about $1 per 1 pound in bulk like that. This Pearl clay was about $5 per 1 pound (it actually costs more now), so it's definitely not saving you any money if you need a lot for a large sculpture or classroom. All that being said, I did manage to make stuff with it but I would never want to buy it again, it's too much time and effort to get anything decent from it. I haven't tested to see if it works on armatures yet (the Crayola kind doesn't), so I will try that later and update it to 2 stars if it can at least do that. The photo with the dragon head is what happens when you work with the clay a few mins without rubbing in water, it crumbles into a reptilian texture.

PERFECT! It is so much easier to buy paper ...
PERFECT!It is so much easier to buy paper clay than it is to make it yourself.Always remember these things:* Use a small amount of water on the project to reduce the amount of sanding time* Use a fine grit sandpaper or you will tear the project (a nail file is great for small items)* Once your project is done, remember to seal for project.

High Quality Clay
Very high quality clay. I used it for mask making and it is very malleable and forgiving!! Allows you to create a very smooth surface!

Not what I expected or needed...
I'm really disappointed with this clay. I don't know if I got a bad batch, but I'm happy to say I didn't spend more than $6 for it. :( I've been working with polymer clay the past year and wanted to dry air dry clay for frostings and fluffier textures. The reviews were good but as you can see in the photo, the consistency never got beyond a slimy crumby texture. Rolling it into a ball it didn't fully integrate into itself, there's always a crack. Looking at past artists working with air dry clay, I know that is not what it's supposed to look like.Granted, they don't use this brand.I added water, re-read the instructions on the package, but after a few moments of optimism my hopes sank as the clay again started breaking apart. This is out of a brand new open bag, too. The photo attached is after a table spoon of water (estimated) and about 30 minutes of kneading it.Sad panda. :(
