Awesome tool!
This tool rocks! While remodeling (DIY) we moved walls and had to patch a large area of the ceiling. I’d already tried several methods to match the knockdown texture of the existing ceiling, but it was never seamless. With this simple little tool, it was easy to make it as if the patched area was original to the ceiling. There is a trick to getting a flawless result.1) Apply the joint compound with a sheet rock knife scraping the edges of the patch flat with the existing ceiling2) Roll the area with the texture tool3) Wait at least 5 minutes (but not much longer) for the mud to start to set up4) Gently drag the sheet rock knife over the mud to create the knock down texture5) Let dry and paintHope that helps!

Easy to use and great value.
This tool was very easy to use. I liked the pattern it created. I had to use this roller for some ceiling plaster repair work. I was surprised that the roller did such a great job in keeping the plaster on the ceiling and how well it spread the plaster.

It does create a neat pattern, just not the one you might expect
We were looking for a quick non-messy (is that even possible?) way to create a knockdown texture without the added mess/clean up of a hopper. This DOES work. But you need your mud to be relatively thick to put down a layer that be knocked down with a taping knife. You can't just roll and let dry. If you are wanting the pattern of the roller, you will need to constantly clean it after each pass. Finally getting the hang of it towards the end, we were able to create a knockdown-like pattern, but not exactly. Great for new walls. Not so much for a patch job. You might be better off with a spray can, or go at it with a hopper. We tried all three, and for the speed and clean up, used the roller.

Really didn't work
This product did not make the beautiful texture that it says it will. My husband has to roll it over and over and over again to get it to look okay, but also find that happy spot before it was just a big mess. Definitely not worth the money, no time saved at all.

Material Too Stiff
This roller seems to be made out of a hard plastic or rubber and does not at all achieved the desired outcome. If the material were something softer like a foam it would likely work as intended, but that is not the case. This roller was ultimately completely useless.

Works great!
This roller worked great! When I initially used it, I applied to much joint compound to the wall and it didn’t look very good. I reduced the amount of joint compound and the roller left behind a nice even texture! If you need any tips on how to use this look up See Jane Drill on YouTube.

Works great
We used this to texture our bathroom and although it does not look like knock down, it looks very good! It made quick work of our texturing.

Doesnt work- waste of money
I've been on a recent roll with picking the worst of the worst of Amazon products. This roller is too deep in it's design and picks up way too much product of whatever you are rolling. Ruined my wall I was trying to texture. Not worth it.
