Works fine with Mac
I bought one of Moyina's USB to Console adapter cables a couple of years ago and have never had any problems connecting to any Cisco gear at my locations. I've also connect successfully to various Fortigate, Brocade and Ubiquiti gear. No driver download needed in my experience but you do have to be mindful of the baud rate of the gear you are connecting to. Cisco gear (at least older devices) are 9600 baud. Some newer gear from other vendors can connect at 115200, some are in between. That information can easily be found online.Anyway, I got a new MacBook Pro that only has four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports, so I needed this version of USB to Console adapter cable. This saves me from having to also connect a Thunderbolt to USB adapter to use my old cable. Sure, that's not too difficult but I prefer to use the most trouble-free tool when I'm on the job - one less adapter to go bad or missing.

Works well
Worked with my Macbook and Windows computers without any driver installation. Was able to connect to the cisco console.

Well Made Cable
The cable came with a RJ45 protector. This is a really nice addition. I have had to re-crimp new connectors on several Cisco cables after putting them in my bag and snagging the clip on the bag causing it to break off. I purchased this one due to the stated Linux support. I can confirm the cable works with Windows 10 1909. Drivers were automatically installed and configured. Cable functions perfectly.

Super great for the price.
I bought this to use from my iPad but it appears that Apple has locked down the USB-C port for anything but charging and an accessory of theirs. So, while I am not able to use for what I wanted, it will work from my laptop and has no issue with console for Cisco switches and routers. Many other places these cable are 3-5 times as much.

Works only for a week and got very hot when connected now
It works only for a week. Now, whenever it is connected to a computer, the chip gets very hot.I still can recognize the device in Windows Device Manager, but it is useless - no output in Putty / other emulator now.

Works like a champ on Mac OS X (10.14.6) and screen
Got this product a few days ago and it's purposed was for console access to Cisco and Gigamon networking equipment. I this the ftdichip website and downloaded the latest (v2.4.2) drivers which were Apple signed and released on 12/24/2019. After driver install I plugged in the console cable and cu.usbserial-AD0JQ7BZ showed up in my dev directory. Used screen at the specified baud rate (115200) and without any issues I had access to the serial console. Worked like a champ and I highly recommend this cable.

Works with my MacBook Pro and MikroTik equipment
Love this cable. I use it to access the serial console on my MikroTik RB4011 and CRS326-24G-2S+RM from my 2019 16" MacBook Pro (Intel). No drivers were required. All I have to do is use the "screen" utility. I can also confirm it works with Ubuntu 20.04 without drivers. I even successfully passed it through on Proxmox to a VM. It just works!
