Fixed voltage problem
Worked to fix our maxxfan voltage problem.

Failed after 35 days.
I installed this voltage regulator for my power amplifier in my 4x4 van. It lasted a total of 35 days and failed. A test showed it puts out only 2 volts now.

Solves voltage drop over long 12v landscape lighting runs
Worked perfectly. I had a long run of low voltage landscape wire driving my LED accent lights. The voltage inevitably drops over distance and the lights stop working after about 100ft. I installed this boost there and it bumped the voltage back up to 12.5v and helped drive the remaining 75ft of LED lights. Perfect solution.

Easy maxxfan workaround
Another maxxfan amateur repair tech here! Was getting 15.2v from shore power and fan was not having it. Sent info to manufacturer and they suggested a volt reg like this one. Asked for a brand recommendation and they haven’t responded. This was easy peasy on installation. 12.2v from both shore and house. I am concerned about longevity as mentioned in so many other reviews but I guess that remains to be seen. For now I can say this was as simple a fix as I’ve had in quite some time.Almost makes you wonder why the maxxfan people don’t just put one of these in at time of build.

Worked for My Solar Powered Fountain
I wanted to connect my 10 amp (20 volt) solar panel to a small 12 volt water pump. The voltage of the solar panel varies between 20 volts down to zero depending on the sunlight and I wasn't sure the that the small pump would take more than 12 volts so I connected this in between the solar panel and the pump. Worked perfectly. In bright sunlight the panel puts out 20 volts and the unit drops the voltage down to 12 volts for the pump. Problem solved! Specs say it will take in up to 36 volts and output 12 volts at a maximum of 5.6 amps. The solar panel puts out about 20 volts at a maximum of 2 amps, this unit drops the voltage down to 12 volts. Works fine.In addition, the unit is well sealed and seems weatherproof, which is important since I have it mounted outside of the water fountain in the weather and exposed to the elements.

Spectacular failure
I used this for a step-down voltage 5v output on a portable ham radio setup for POTA since November. Everything else required 12v, the tuner required 5v so I added this in line for its power. Seemed to work well.Yesterday the device failed spectacularly. Sudden "pop" noise, smoke, and even flame for a couple of seconds where the case had split. I had to evacuate the car until the smoke had dissipated. Glad I was there when it happened. Definitely done with these things, I will replace those I'm running at home as well. I can't trust them.

Perfect for project
I purchased this item for a mod project on my Maxxair Fan on my Hiker Trailer teardrop camper. You can find numerous YouTube videos on how to do it, if you need to.The size and ease of install could not be easier (well, for me at least, and there is plenty or room within the fan's housing to place it easily ).Time will tell how long it will last but I anticipate it will do what it's supposed to do for a very long time. I tested everything after install and the voltage to the fan's CB remained a steady 12v.EDIT: 10SEP24...went camping and turned MaxxFan on, no dice....troubleshooting revealed that that no voltage flowed through regulator....it failed.....I withdraw my recommendation.

Dead after 6 months of use
Stopped working after 6 months.Had this hooked up in my campervan to regulate the voltage for my fan. Voltage readout on the output side of the regulator was 12v when installed. Now reads zero volts and is as dead as dead can be.Gets an extra star for not melting or catching fire after breaking lol
