What makes this so much better than the 50 and $60 ones you can buy that warrants it worth spending $200?

I suspect that ScumBusters aren't being manufactured anymore, so that may be justification for the $200 price tag. I didn't spend that amount, though. I bought my first one when the product was first introduced --- in the 90s, I think. Then I misplaced it during a move. I've since replaced my original one by buying a used one off Amazon. I paid less than $50 both times. I must say I really like the product, though, because it's easier to use this power scrubber thingie than it is to scrub by hand. I hope that this is helpful.

I have 2 original coarse yellow pads left.Might have come with others.There are white,green,red, blue on line. Which is which? Nothing from B&D now.

I bought the Scumbuter used. It has one blue pad and I bought some on line (New) the blue is ok for tile, grout and glass doors. I don't know about any of the others.

does this also work as a buffer?

Yes. The white pad is non abrasive and works as a buffer
