Bought a 10-year old home with Larson storm doors. 2 of theses metal exterior Larson doors were rusted through. Replaced with Larson, but these doors have vinyl exteriors - and the vainly exteriors eventually cracked. Larson will not replace the defective doors, stating I have to be the original owner of the house to get a replacement (which makes no sense since I replaced the doors after I purchased the home). BTW, another of the original metal exterior doors is now rusted / corroded though t the word core (see last pic above).

So the next time you are considering a Larson storm door keep this in mind. Their lifetime warranty means the only thing lifetime is the frame around the glass ... everything else, hinges, glass, hardware, outside frame, are all 1 year period. Mine broke a hinge and so I now get to buy another $400 storm door. But they are sorry :(

I’m now replacing my Larson doors (2). They just didn’t hold up. The wood core soaked up water and winter froze them. Both doors have cracked and need replacing.
