It's a bulb
Not very familiar with the UV sterilizers could have been my fault the way it was installed however I think it almost lit up once, but that was about it. Again very possibly could have been my fault or possibly with the filter itself but no working. Rather not battle it out with Amazon or seller. Took it in the shorts again may have been my fault
