Crescent Lufkin 1/2" x 50' Hi-Viz® Orange Linear Engineer's Fiberglass Tape Measure - 703D

The unit is very lightweight and easy to handle, small enough to fit into a small toolbag or even a padfolio (or a large file folder for that matter), but is also highly visible and won't get misplaced on a site. Fiberglass tape is good quality and marked in decimal-feet (engineer scale), which is perfect for my purpose of measuring the exterior of existing improvements to calculate building areas. The ridged tab has anchored securely over the 50' measuring length on various building materials so far, including wood, painted brick, concrete block, and stucco; there is an adequate-sized hole to bolt the end in the ground if measuring an exterior that won't hold the tab. The reel-in mechanism is fast and effortless. Overall, this suits my requirements ideally and I plan to buy another as a backup.

Great tape measure - just be warned that what they mean by "Engineer-Foot" (or "Decimal" as labeled on the product) is that this tape measures breaks down the foot into 10ths and 100ths of a foot - NOT inches. So if you want a measurement of "1.98 feet" this tape is for you, but if you want it read "1 foot and 63/64s" then you should look elsewhere

Well constructed out of solid materials, and I LOVE the decimals.

Would have given it a 5 star, except at the Foot increment are printed in a light red color they should use a bright color

The item did what it was supposed to do, no problems with it, and can't beat the price. I would purchase it again.

Just what I needed....small, durable, easy to use...only wish it was in 'engineer's measurements (tenths) on the other side ( instead of blank) would have been perfect!
