nippon kodoAroma Bliss - Green Tea (Approx. 170 Sticks), Japanese Incense

I continue to try many brands on Amazon (Shoyeido, Awaji Baikundou, Morning Star and now Nippon Kodo Aroma Bliss. This Green tea is top of class. First, while many brands tout low smoke, this specific green tea incense is truly smokeless. I burn incense next to a mirror so I can see the wafts of smoke, which can be quite visually pleasing. This one, I can reliably say is smokeless! It is labeled as made with Japanese Binchō-tan charcoal creating a beautiful charcoal like color of the sticks. There must be something special about how this bincho-tan charcoal is made to keep the burning smokeless. The smell of green tea is subtle, yet lingering without a scent of smoke. You feel like you've entered a tea house. The stick very slowly burns to a fine powder, lasting longer than others that are thinner, shorter or simply burn faster. An overall wonderful kodo (art of the "way of the fragrance") experience.

I have tried this 4x now to give it a chance and I can't find anything pleasant about this scent. An inside note says it's the aroma of coffee and grean tea leaves. These are from Japan so maybe the scent is pleasant to that part of the world. I will give away as someone else may like it.

I have been burning Nippon Kodo incense for years. Their green tea incense is gorgeously scented. I love that the incense are smokeless, because they are not messy. This is my new favorite incense.

Mine didn't smell like tea at all. The smell wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't tea.

Mine didn't smell like tea at all, just a typical incense smell. Still very aesthetic and beautiful. Still would recommend it.
