Works great, helps me wake up.
I have been using this for a few weeks now, specifically the sunrise function, and liking it very much. Once the days started getting shorter, I was finding it very hard to get up in the morning while it is still dark out. I set this so it comes on at 6am, and it gets brighter in steps from there. It is a VERY pleasant and natural-feeling way to wake up. You can prop it up on its stand facing toward you, but it also works to just lay it face up on the nightstand and let it shine up into the room. Apparently you could also use this as a treatment for mood since it reaches 10,000 lux, though I can't speak to that since I don't have mood issues (if my spouse tries it out for that, we will see). It took me a while to decipher the instructions, because they relate to multiple models that are not all the same, but I figured it out. My only criticism is that the power is not portable, so if you unplug it to use in another room you might have to reset your programming. But I can't fault them for that, since they do make a higher model with more features, which I chose not to spend extra money on. Works as advertised, for a reasonable price.

Works great! Love the sunrise setting
Ignore other reviews saying the instructions are unclear, they are perfectly fine. I was able to set the time and the alarm/sunrise for my wake up time. This is one of the only light therapy lights I found with a wake up function and it works great.

Great light, good sunrise wake-up!
I actually really like this product. I tested it against the Verilux Liberty which is the exact same size, but the Verilux product is much bulkier, puts out less Lux (only 10,000 whereas this is 12,000, which means you need to spend less time in front my of the light to get the same benefit). This one you can much more easily travel with (thin & lightweight). The only thing I’m unsure about is how long it will last. I will come back to report. The sunrise setting is great and it does come on gradually over the course of 15 minutes. If you look closely, it does jump a TINY bit (not a perfect fade on and off), but the jumps are between hundreds of levels of light (not big jumps between the 4 manual light settings) and to a sleeping person this is not going be noticeable. If you are anal, this might bother you but I would recommend getting over that because this light will actually wake you up gradually and flood your room with light - which the other $150-$200 sunrise alarm clocks don’t (none of them are very bright at all….what’s the point of that?? I need my alarm to get me out of bed).As far as programming goes, I DO agree with other commenters that the English instructions are challenging because they don’t appear to be written by a native English speaker - that being said, if you keep studying them and playing around with the settings you should be able to eventually figure it out. Some tips: some of the programming functions depend on how long or short you push the master programming button. For each setting, a long hold navigates you to which function you want to change, and once you’re there, use a short touch on that same button, along with short touches on the + and - sign to change that particular function.Overall, I’m excited about this product and if it has longevity it will prove to be an incredibly worthwhile value!

Great investment for the price
I’ve had mine for about four months now. When your eyes are open it looks a little too white/blue to be sunlight, so I wouldn’t use it as a lamp during the day, but that’s the only negative. When your eyes are closed it looks just like sunlight on the back of your eyelids. I doubt it would look so real with your eyes closed if they made it more yellow the rest of the time, so not a real complaint. It’s bright enough that I don’t need to turn on a light when getting dressed, but dim enough that my just-woken-up-grumpy eyes don’t squint against it the way they do the bedroom light.Since it comes on slowly (it takes about a minute to go from off to full brightness), it makes for a very gentle wake up, much like a real dawn if your window faces East and your blinds/curtains are open. It won’t wake me up if I haven’t slept enough, but it does help me to wake up faster if I use an alarm, and even an alarm isn’t needed if I’ve had enough sleep (tip: use birdsong as an alarm. Paired with sunlight, it makes for an effective yet gentle and natural wake up). I have it on my nightstand to wake myself for work before dawn, but since I don’t bother turning it off for the weekends, I tend to wake up as soon as I’ve had enough rest instead of sleeping in late, which is good for a healthy sleep schedule. The only change I’d implement is to make it possible to set a different schedule for weekends without having to reset it or unplug it every time. However, considering the relatively low price for this model, it was well worth it as is. A great investment overall.

Literally life changing
I am a touring country musician on the weekends which means I’m up until 5 am. I’m also a college student, which means I get up at 7:30 am every other day of the week. Getting my circadian rhythm straightened out every Monday has been virtually impossible and I ended up skipping most of my classes for a couple month because of it. As a last ditch effort, I got this lamp and put it on my wall. When it got to the brightest setting, it woke me up naturally before my alarm went off, and was so bright I couldn’t fall back asleep if I tried. I found my mood was significantly improved in the mornings as well and I was a lot less groggy. If you have any problems with mornings this thing is a must. I wish I found it earlier.

Wake up without loud alarms or fake birds chirping.
I like everything about this product. I bought it exclusively to wake me up. It's dark here on the Oregon coast in winter until 7 or 8 a.m. I set it for 5 a.m. and woke up at 5:20 to a well lit white wall near my bed. The light panel is set on a night stand facing the wall. The instructions are explicit. Take some time to review them. You must long press M longer than you think to enter the program. The default time is different than the one in the instructions but has no impact on the setup.
