Tekonsha90885C Prodigy P2 Proportional Brake Controller for Trailers with 1-4 Axles

I bought this for my dodge truck to upgrade the one that was in it. I tow a 40 ft 12,000 pound 5th wheel with 2 axles. This works great. I needed to stop on some steep hills locally and this got the job done. It's easy to set up and it's easy to fine tune based on your needs. I haven't found the sweet spot yet, but that's my fault not the controller.I had originally bought a different brand and installed it a few days before ordering the prodigy and when I pushed the button to test it out, it literally smoked itself. As in smoke came out of the controller. I double checked the wiring, (I am a professional mechanic and have installed hundreds of brake controllers) and after I determined it was the unit and not my work I immediately ordered the prodigy. So if you want a no headache brake controller, spend the extra few dollars and get one of these.

This is plain and simple the best brake controller you can get. There are much cheaper ones, but these are bullet proof and will work forever.

Easy install and works great.

The controller works just fine. Install was easy and took all of maybe 10 minutes. Only reason I gave 4/5 stars is because I don’t care for the way these controller look. I tried the Curt spectrum controller first and after trying to use 2 of those to no avail, I was recommended the prodigy P2. Wish they offered a similar turn dial controller so it would be a bit more slick and look like an OEM controller.

This is a great brake controller it learns how to apply the brakes to your trailer, and it can be located in any direction. It also controls the brakes on one to four axles. Another thing that is great about this controller is that you can buy lots of factory connection for the vehicle to the controller, so the wiring is very easy to do so you don't have to splice wires and risk a bad install.

This thing works. It was a simple install with the available adapter you can buy. The instructions on how to set it up were easy enough to follow. It's small enough that I was able to put in in a spot that is out of the way but easy to see if needed. I hooke dit up set it according to the instructions and it worked perfectly when I hooked up to my trailed If there was something to add is a good piece of double stick tape for those of us that don't want to put holes in to install it.

Easy to install works great.

Bought this to tow my buddy’s ultra lite trailer I borrowed. Hardest part of the install was finding the wiring harness under the dash board, which really wasn’t hard. The rest of the install was super simple. Worked great. Made towing the trailer much easier. I bought the truck specific wiring harness as well. It’s not expensive.

I've got a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with a tow package, connect it to plug and play wiring. it works great! been using it for a month with no problem.
