Replacement bulbs fitted easily and work well

This product is so bad I have to write a review. The springs permanently deform (see pics) every time you fold them back to put the light back into the ceiling - these are springs that do not spring and they leave the light hanging out the ceiling as if there was no clip. I tried 4 different ones to be sure it wasnt defective, same useless result every time

If you fit it the right way around, the spring holds firm. The wrong way and the spring bends uselessly out of shape. (I got it wrong before getting it right.)

In defence of all the bad reviews, I have just fitted these springs and the first one did exactly as you have said and seemed sub standard. Having looked again I realised it was fitted the wrong way round, so stretcing the spring rather than compressing it. Have refitted them correctly and works perfectly.

I should have read the reviews, but agree that the spring is not strong enough to hold fire rated spot lights, they are noticeably thinner metal then the original springs.

Bought these for double insulated downlighters (one with metal case round back of the light). The springs are really not up for anything but the lightest unit - as soon as you put them on and pull back to insert into the recess then the tension has already gone. Not worth buying and regret the purchase.

Do not stay in the ceiling as not tough enough spring mechanism. It's more of a hinge so they just fall out.

I was really worried when I read the very mixed reviews. After two failed attempts I figured out how to install them correctly and then they worked perfectly! Saved me from buying a new set of lights
