Quality
I have been wanting to but one of these blankets forever. My kiddo has sensory issues among other things. I was scared to put that much money into something not knowing the outcome. Well he loves it!! He has not put it down since i bought it. From the minute he gets up he takes, drags it with him every where. It's soft, durable and the best thing i have purchased for his sensory issues! Would definitely recommend this product ! UPDATE ! AFTER USING THIS FOR A WHILE NOW ALL THE BEADS OR MATERIAL INSIDE HAVE ALL SHIFTED TO THE EDGES AND MAKES RHE BLANKET USELESS, DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF WHAT THE BLANKET IS FOR!

It really does work for anxiety
Background: I'm an adult with a handful of anxiety disorders, and I'm very easily overstimulated, which just makes me even more anxious. While meds help, they just make it possible to function. I'm anxious all the time, and have anxiety attacks often.I was first introduced to the concept of weighted blankets via a social ad for a company that shares a name with a popular recent movie. I didn't like that their product wasn't immediately available and it was kind of ugly. I was also skeptical about them actually inventing the concept of a weighted blanket, so I looked on Amazon for alternatives. This one looked great (and I liked the purple/pink color), but I couldn't make myself purchase it for the longest time. A heavy blanket help anxiety? It seemed ridiculous, and it's not cheap.I finally bit the bullet after an especially bad attack last week. When it arrived, it wasn't exactly what I expected. The comforter/insert was quilted into squares to ensure even stuffing distribution, and the weights were put into bags and distributed throughout those squares. In other words, it was kind of lumpy. It also had a bit of a plasticy smell (it's since gone away). It was a lot bigger than I expected--I was kind of concerned it'd be too small (even having read the dimensions), but as you can see from the photo, it's large enough to completely cover a twin bed with some overhang. In spite of the lumps, it's also really cozy as a regular blanket.I tried it out then, but it didn't seem to have much of an effect. It was cozy, but that was it. I can't sleep with it because it's too hot, so I started regretting my purchase. Then I tried it during an anxiety attack.Wow.It gave the immediate effect of a sedative--and I didn't have to take medication. While the effect wasn't as strong as medication, it was enough that I was able to calm down and get the anxiety to a manageable level. That made this immediately worth it for me. Even if I can only use it for milder attacks, (I don't think it can handle really bad ones by itself) it's worth it. I prefer to use sedatives sparingly since I already take daily medication, and this lets me use them less. That makes this worth it for me. I recommend trying it if you're looking for additional ways to manage anxiety, even if you're an adult.

Beads don't stay distributed. *UPDATED
So I'm really disappointed. When I first got this blanket on the 16 of April I loved it! like full 5 stars perfect wrote a review about 20 min after sitting under it. But after just a under 2 weeks the beads have already slipped to the side and the middle has few to no beads/weight while the sides are super heavy. I'm going to do my best to shake it out and get it evenly distributed again, but honestly for the price I paid I was hoping to NOT have to deal with that problem.Only reason it's getting 2 stars is cause I truly do love it when it's distributed and I'm hoping the seller says that its just a problem with the blanket I received rather than a design flaw of the product.*UPDATE: after putting this up I got an email from the producer and they sent me a replacement product. So thankful I can give this the five stars it deserves!!

Actually works!!!
This blanket is AMAZING. My husband bought it for me because I struggle with anxiety, especially at night. This helps me sleep so well. Not only does it help my anxiety, but it helps my restless leg and rolling around. I sleep so much sounder when I use it. I have tried other things for my anxiety (essential oils, supplements, etc) and none of them really make a difference. This however made a big immediate difference. I don't know how I lived without it for so long. I highly recommend. The only possible negatives are the length...i am 5'6" and my feet stick out sometimes. I got the 15lb, so if you're taller I would get the 20lb. Also, I love the soft outer cover with the minky fabric, but it does sometimes make me hot. I use it instead of my comforter.

This blanket is terrific. It's soft and the weight is very comforting
I'm an adult with anxiety. I'm 6 foot tall ~250 lbs. and I purchased the 25 lb version. This blanket is terrific. It's soft and the weight is very comforting. I do believe it helps me sleep better. After opening the product I noticed a faint odor, almost like a skunk. The second day, I could not sleep with it because the scent became too strong. I pulled the cover off and washed it. Everything seemed fine till a week later. The skunk scent returned with a vengeance. I assumed it was the dye used for what the company refers to as the "minky" outer cover. My wife is upset because it smells so bad.I'll attempt to wash both the inner and outer layers, following the instructions on the Harkla website, and post the results. Although, I'm not sure that my washer can handle the 25 lb. padding layer.Any advice would be appreciated.-Stuart

So far so good...
This is a lovely, soft, vibrant weighted blanket. I bought it for my son who has autism, he struggles to sleep and like compression. I thought I’d give this a go. I’ll try anything right now. I bought the heaviest one because his twin brother uses it too. So far so good. I calm and the first night he used it he was asleep after 1 hour. It’s very hot at the moment so he’s not using it as much as he would like. The only downside is trying to clean it. So yes it all is machine washable but my son is double incontinent and wiggley so he will wet the bed. I do think it would help in the inner actual weighted blanket was waterproof. Also the picture makes it look bigger than it is.

Torn on arrival
We are having significant problems with getting our autistic son to sleep on an evening so turned to ordering a weighted blanket to see if that would help. After much searching on Amazon I decided to go for this one. Unfortunately I wasn't been able to use it as it arrived with a rip in the blanket. It's not a huge rip, only about one inch long, but it was large enough to have what I assume are very small glass beads coming from it so I've had to return it immediately. Obviously with it being torn on arrival I am very reluctant to purchase another Is the blanket any good? I honestly cannot say, all I can report on is what was sent to me and unfortunately what was not fit for purpose which is hugely disappointing, not least as it means no more sleep for the foreseeable future.

Great purchase
I wish I would of brought this a long time ago for my children. Once she snuggle with the cover, she asleep straight away. I really does work for anxiety. It you were thinking about buying one, I highly recommend to buy one. Bear in mind if your child is 12 years of age go for the middle weight, because I brought the highest weight, and I could of purchase the next size down from the highest. Only because they or very heavy covers.

Less sleep deprived
I have gone from being awake either for most of the night or waking up loads of times to only being awake once during the night. I did go for a slightly heavier one than was recommended but it’s been fine for me, I just can’t get out of bed very quickly as have trouble moving the blanket.
