I can’t rate support or durability as I’ve only just started wearing them. I got them for the Danner reputation and so far no complaints. I wouldn’t recommend them if you’re in a cold climate, (I’m in FL and it’s 75F in Jan) as there’s no insulation, it’s just raw leather all around… reminds me of the Clark’s desert boots I grew up with. But having watched the quick videos from Saddlebackleather, I can appreciate these Danner’s have quality stamped all over them. My only surprise is that I got these for work (construction) but they look so good right out of the box that I just can’t do it; by the time I put on some leather treatment and they softened up, I realized I’m keeping these for going out and I’ll keep using my big and ugly (but durable) Kenetrek’s for work.Follow up after wearing for a month: I’ve been reading some negative reviews and it happens with every product—someone saying they didn’t like this one while comparing it to something else, and completely glossing over that the preferred something is more expensive. There are many great boots available, every personal taste will be different, and for what you pay—these Danners are very well made and offer great value. Hope that helps.

I’ve just got to say I absolutely love these boots. I wasn’t sure about size having never owned a pair before so I decided to go true to size. When they arrived I became more worried because they felt really narrow. I noticed that with each step they gave a little. Now, after a week or so they fit like a glove and are so ridiculously comfortable. I’m so glad I made this purchase.

So, I wanted an old-school "just-a-boot" boot. That is what these are. The sole is soft, similar to the foam on the sole of a running shoe, the boot itself is unsplit leather...no lining, no fanciness, just leather. This is what I wanted, and this is what i got. They feel like real boots.They are stiff and harder to break in than other boots, but the feel of these is much more genuine. If I had wanted a thiner leather or fake pleather, that would have been easier to break in, I would have ordered different (and cheaper) boots. I would say that I endured my boots the first week, wore them the second week, and enjoyed them from week three on...The sole is nice, and I get the feeling that these boots are perfect for a warehouse worker or someone who works on concrete floors...they definitely lighten the blow on my back by day's end. because of the solid construction of the boot, they do not feel like you are wearing soft sole shoes like a sneaker...more like wearing dress shoes with a solid leather sole, but walking on carpet...stiff, but no-impact. Because of the material, i would not expect these to last long on rough surfaces or if you drag your foot or heal when walking. I have worn my daily for a little over a month now, and have no wear marks...they still look new.I have no reason not to give this product 5 stars, other than they did not exceed my expectation...they simply met my expectation.They are quality American made boots...which is getting harder to find these days.The seller, Outdoor Equipped is a veteran owned company. As a 23 year veteran myself, I appreciate supporting those that have supported us. Their processing of the order was quick and professional.

Comfortable, but soles do not last long and don’t have good grip, would do better with vibrant soles that last

I ordered these boots based upon previous reviews submitted by customers. In most shoes, I wear a size 12, which is what I ordered these in. Upon receiving the boots, I could tell they would need a break in period. At the end of the first day of wearing the boots, I found that the toenail on my big toe of my left foot had bruised. I have recently had several abdomenal surgeries while fighting some cancer, and as a result, I have neuropathy (loss of feeling) in both feet. I initially thought that the bruising was because the boots needed further break in, so I wore them again with the same results. I called Danner customer service and explained my situation and that I had purchased the boots through an Amazon retailer. At this point, I figured I would at least try to do something instead of having to eat the purchase price of $161 for boots that did not fit. Danner Customer Service was fantastic!!!! The representative I spoke to said that Danner could not issue a refund, and I replied that I was hoping to get the boots replaced for a size 13. The rep told me to ship the boots to Danner Returns along with a letter explaining what happened and they would see what they could do. Within a week of Danner Returns receiving the boots, I had a new pair of boots in a size 13. These boots fit great with no issues to my toes. All I can say is that I will definitely order from Danner again, the customer service is second to none. Plus, these boots are quality made in the USA.

I have had these boots for nearly 2 years, and I can’t say enough for them. When you get them you recognize they are high quality on first sight. The leather is well made and durable. The boot is fairly comfortable up front, but does take some break in time to really get to where you want them, which is what to expect from a quality work boot. After a year or so I did replace the Danner insole, you may find that is something you should do when you get them. I work in construction and have worn these exclusively at work for the last year and they are still going strong. I suspect that I will get them resoled in the next few months, which is a great thing about these boots. I typically wear wide sizes in shoes but found that these were plenty roomy in standard width. If you are in the market for a high quality American Made boot you won’t be disappointed with these.
