The Beauty of Horror 4: Creature Feature Coloring Book

The best one yet!
If you're a fan of this series, I would be amazed if you didn't love this one. It has the great drawings, the gore, the beauty, the sense of humor of past entries, AND references beloved classic horror. The books have always winked at these topics ... like the twins in the hallway in Creepatorium -- but this one dives in with Freddy, and Michael, and Jason, Chucky, multiple incarnations of Dracula. Norman Bates's house. The Amityville house. Multiple pages dedicated to The Shining! If you haven't purchased this series yet, but are a colorist who likes horror and has colored fields of flowers, forests of trees, and countless mandalas, I believe this would be a welcome change of pace. There are other horror themed books, but the ones I've purchased just don't have the quality. Often great pictures, but frustrating paper. These have thick pages that work well with a variety of tools. Alcohol markers and Sharpies bleed through, but I'm not sure I know of a book that doesn't have that issue. But pencils, gel pencils, pastels, and water colors -- if you don't overdo the water -- are no problem.

This book is ICONIC and hilarious
HUGE fan of Alan Robert's Beauty of Horror books. They are the only coloring books that I continuously buy blind because I know that they are guaranteed to be amazing. I am not a fan of the floral, portrait based books anymore. IMO, they are way too redundant. Alan's books aren't like that at all. They are very creative and you don't get bored with his designs. Since they are horror themed, I feel like I can be way more creative with them.He hasn't let us down. I love this volume because it showcases icon characters from all horror (classic monsters, classic movies, shows, etc.) in humorous ways. I literally love every page in this book. There is a good mix, 50/50, of single and double page spreads. Same great paper that can stand up to most media. I would not recommend alcohol markers though, they will bleed through. If you are a alcohol marker enthusiast, I would recommend getting two copies of the book.

Best One Yet!
This is by far the best book in the series! I love it that it has actual horror characters in it. Although most of them have the Ghouliana face, there are a few times when the real characters are in the book as well. For example, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, a Xenomorph, etc. There are also horror landmarks such as the Bates Motel. It’s a blast!

Beautiful book but the binding is brittle and pages fall out
First of all I have to say I love the artwork and the paper the pages are on is really nice and heavy. This is not a book where the images can be removed as there are images on both sides of the pages and some pictures are two pages wide. I wish I would’ve known that but they can still be colored and used as an art book on a coffee table. The problem I had with this book was the binding. When you open the book to lay flat for coloring the pages pop out from the binding and fall out. So the function of this book is ruined. Color it and the pages fall out. Don’t open it up and it’s a coffee table type book that no one can look at for fear of losing pages. It just doesn’t work. Too bad for the cheap binding tho because the book is fun, creative and beautiful. Disappointed.

The book fell apart the same day I bought it!
I was really happy to receive it. The artwork is phenomenal. However as I was writing down the movie references in the book, one page after another started to fall out. I don't have a coloring book anymore; I have a bunch of loose pages, and I just received it in the mail today. I'm slightly angry. I am so disappointed about this. I love the artwork and the coloring pages. I might keep it for that reason, but the book it's self is built very poorly.

Overall book and cover quality, materials and construction, 5 stars. 4 for content.
It's hard not to give this five stars. With a name like "the beauty of horror [whatever volume]" I thought that the horror genre would be both more explicit and more romanticized. Unfortunately for me, all of the drawings have a cartoonish quality and most involve the artist's creation, "ghoulia" a conveniently self-copyrighted character. Anyway it's still super cute, the paper quality is not the best for colored pencils but they work ok and it's definitely the best for marker. Overall book and cover quality, materials and construction, 5 stars. 4 for content.

GOREgeous!
I absolutely love it! The one problem I did have was that as soon as I opened it the pages were super tightly bound or glued, and pages are already falling out. which is sad for the most part because it's going to be hard to color some of the double page spreads if they aren't lined up properly. It's absolutely gorgeous though and don't regret it one bit. Just wish my copy was a little more flexible in the spine area.

the best collection of books, and this is the best one yet
Gore-gous as usual! This book is the most fun by far! Horror movie fans will love the movie depictions. they are funny and cute! Great paper as usual! I use my prismas, polychromos, amazon pencils, pablos, fineliners, gel pens, tombow water based markers and all work fine on this paper type. I just wish the pages were one sided! i accidentally used fineliners that seeped into the image on the other side and i was really mad at myself! Overall perfect coloring book. Hours of fun

Another amazing beauty of horror book.
I own all the beauty of horror books. Alan Robert's books have all been fantastic and this one certainly doesnt disappoint. It contains images inspired by horror and sci fi films, such as alien, the ring and chucky. It contains a good variety of classic characters and a few modern ones. The paper quality is good, the same as the rest of the series. Great for pencils. The images are double sided so not a good idea to use markers. I havent used wet media on the paper so I'm not sure how it would react to that. It's easy to get the book to lay flat and is easy to colour right into the centre of the pages. It's not hardback book but comes with a dust jacket.Definitely recommend this book, if like me, you love horror and creepy artwork.

My favourite Beauty of Horror book!
Alan Robert's Beauty of Horror adult colouring book series is brilliant for horror fans, and this latest book is by far my favourite! Ghouliana and her friends have recreated scenes from different horror films ready for you to bring to life with colour. I really enjoyed colouring my first page (see attached image) where Ghouliana is The Ring's Samara crawling out of the well. Can't wait to colour more :)

Wet and dirty book :(
Love this series of horror colouring books. However, I have had the same issue as other customers, where the book is damaged. My book was wet and dirty on the corners and the dust sleeve. I was going to send it back but what’s the point? I’ll probably get another dirty and wet one since Amazon don’t really care.. Plus side the art work is amazing and I love that it’s based on famous horror movies.

Weird and wonderful
The delivery was quick, good condition, the pictures are really cool, look forward to colouring them in. It makes a great new addition to the collection/series of colouring books the artist has previously illustrated. I would recommend this book to any horror fan who likes to colour.

Great pictures great paper but...
Really pleased with this book when it arrived however upon beginning colouring, the pages are coming loose! Wouldn't mind if it was all one image per page but this has now ruined the experience for future colouring on double spread pages. Disappointed as its quite a pricey colouring book but the pictures are worth it. Just poorly bound. I'm wanting to get no.3 next,I hope it arrives in better condition?!
