Brilliant device for a rotty with a mind of her own
Very accurate compared to a lot of devices we have tried before. Doesn’t hinder our dog at all. This is our second Kippy and wouldn’t go for anything different.

Total waste of time and effort and Kippy customer services do not understand simple issues
do not know how good this hardware is as the app and customer service are bad and non-existent.to register the Vodafone sim is easy and goes through great. so the sim is activatedVODAFONE sim 10/10to actually use the tracker you need the Kippy app.this will not work until you verify your email address on the accountso the email never arrivedNO OPTION TO RESEND THE EMAILtry to log in to the app and it saye email not verified!try to re-register and it says already registered.contact customer services! what a joke. 3 emails in and they give their standard answer you see on all app reviews they care to answer. Guess what. contact vodafone customer services.WHY their side is working. Kippy are in italy anyway but will not resent the verification email that did not arrive in the first place. My email account is perfect judging by the amount of emails i receive. no it isnt in junk, spam, unwanted etc folderunfortunately they probably dont read Amazon reviews eitherI now have the vodafone v-multi which is working fine although technically not as good and battery not as good. i will never know how good this one is.

It's good but I'm not convinced on value
This is a very nicely presented product, which puts it right in line with most upmarket electronic gadgets I’ve tested. It shouts quality, which leads to great expectations of its performance.Out of the box, the device needs to be charged. The device uses a charging cradle, which looks odd but works fine. Note that it will check for firmware updates while charging, so watch the indicator to see if this is happening, as you won’t want to interrupt that. The device itself is a very reasonable size for a dog, but our cat didn’t like it at all. It’s too big for cat. It fitted to her collar, but it hung there like a millstone. She wasn’t happy. The dog was fine with it. It’s a bigger animal.Attachment is via a Velcro strap, which is secure, but not as nice as a neat mount fixed to the collar. The device collects data, something like a Fitbit, and transmits its location to your phone, via the app – you’ll need two. One app is for your Vodafone account; the other is the bit that actually connects to Kippy. Here, you make a profile for your pet, so the data from Kippy makes sense for the breed and age of dog, and so on.The app looks fine, and seems to be robust, but it isn’t very intuitive. You really need to read the manual for this; tapping things won’t suffice. These days, that shouldn’t be necessary. Plenty of apps manage much more complex tasks while remaining very simple to use. Amazingly, there’s no real-time tracking. The map shows you where the Kippy was, but it is periodic, meaning you don’t get a continuous line on the map to show where your pet went – its route. It’s really about pet location, which is a feature that works well on Kippy. Once the app has connected to Kippy, it will guide you to the right location. We had no problem with that. This is the first pet GPS we’ve tried. It was easy enough to set up, not exactly intuitive to use, and the feature set was a bit lacking. I really wanted the full picture of my pet’s every move, but I didn’t get that. A big plus is that the pack includes a full year’s subscription. It means you can try it for a while to see if you want to continue.

Good value and it works
Works very well and as there is no monthly payment for a year good value for money. We live in countryside so there are no issues with gps etc.

Faulty and weak signal
This device does not work very well. I ordered to track my dog during off-lead walks but the GPS location rarely works. I am currently having to have it replaced/fixed after it has stopped turning on all together after two weeks. The "Live" tracking frequently returns a notification saying that the device cannot be found. It doesn't work if the dog is near you, but also doesn't work if he is too far away (e.g. taken on a walk whilst I am in the house tracking.) Would not recommend.I thought that because this uses the same technology as a mobile phone, it would be more sensitive and react more quickly. For example I can easily track devices on Find my iPhone. But it does not live up to all that it promises to do.

There are much better dog trackers on the market.
Decided to give this tracker a chance despite the bad reviews as my partner has fantastic 4g Vodafone signal where we usually walk. Worked well the first time we used it and then wouldn’t connect at all after that, it just kept searching... we ended up having to return it. It’s a shame as it is a much better size than a lot of the other trackers.
