Super bright & very sturdy
I have the battery operated one and REALLY wanted this one because the other runs thru disposable batteries, and it takes a lot of them. This one is MUCH better, and it seems brighter than the other! It is sturdier too; this one has a good solid feel and has some weight to it. The magnet base is strong enough to put on my car while I am working on it, and it will stay put with ease. The rechargeable version does NOT come with the fold-out fan feet though, which was my only disappointment. GREAT lantern! it was a bit pricey, but I waited and bought it on promo! I recommend this product, but.. ***WARNING****DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE LANTERN WHEN TURNING IT ON, it CAN AND WILL temporarily blind you!! it is not dangerous though.

Total Junk
How many ways to describe how much this light is junk…….first it does not work. Second, it indicates batteries are included (again, does not work) however the threads to get to them are seized. Third, the instructions says do not leave it with the batteries installed as they will drain. That’s convienant………. Don’t waste a hundred dollars on this piece of junk.

The flash light is very heavy but robust.
The flash light is great and is very bright. I will be testing it on our camping trip soon. Will not be returning this one.

Flood light. If thats what you're into.
Not the model I was after. Nowhere did it say flood to super flood light in the description. I didnt want a flood. Other wise the light is bright. Well made. I returned it.

Flashlight or Billy Club, Get Hot
To tell you the truth this is the 2nd one of this light I got because the first one burnt out on me after only 5 minutes of using. I'm on a very large property and went out in the dark and turned it on and was pretty impressed with the extremely wide and bright flood light that it put out. But then I noticed that the head started to get pretty hot, then really, really hot, then it burned out. Of course Amazons great return policy handled that and sent out a new unit as I sent in the old one. As I got very busy with many unexpected things that happened in life it was some time before I got back to test the replacement light. The first memory I got was how awful hard it was to get out of the blister pack, worst one ever, but then had it in my hand to try out again. You have to take off the end cap to remove the temporary paper insulator on the back of the battery so it can make contact, and put the cap back on. I hit the on button and again the ultra-bright light came on. So I left it on to see if it would burn out again, but it didn't. But what it did do after a while is dim down to avoid overheating. I'm not sure if that is a built in protection system or just another defect. Hitting the multi-level cycle on/off button brought the highest setting on again. At lower settings it seems to hold that light intensity much better without dimming. As far as the flashlight as a whole, this thing can take the place of a Billy Club with its long steel battery tube housing. And it does have some weight to it. It can make a self-defense item to whack someone out with. There is a rubber plug on the side for the USB C charge port (cable included) and an USB A out port for auxiliary power for phones, etc,. Just keep in mind that this is NOT a long distance narrow beam spot light, it is a wide angle flood light that illuminates well all in front and sides of you.Now if this light stands the test of time, then it is a good heavy duty bright LED cob light to have with wide flood light output. Just don't try to look into the light at high setting as it can hurt your eyes. Very powerful.

Reporting a problem
I really enjoyed the superb beam. Compared to actual time used, the flash light battery compartment was “hot” after brief use, and required frequent charging. Now the battery will not charge at all. It is a lithium battery and must be defective. The issue is important, due to reports of fire with lithium batteries. If you are aware and are replacing the battery, please advise. Or is there another type of battery to use? Thanks - Susan McCormick
