Such an advanced car for its time with a Maserati engine
I last saw a Citroen SM when I was on holiday in Tuscany in 2012. I had to go and have a look at such a stylish car while it was parked.I remember reading about it in a compilation book of Autocar road tests in the 1970s and I wanted to know more. So I bought this Brooklands guide which collects together many magazine articles and road tests. What comes over very clearly is how technologically advanced this car was together with how quaint an alliance between Citroen and Maserati was considered at the time. From what I've seen on classic car magazines, it still represents a good buy for anyone looking for something unusual. I know I envied the driver in Tuscany. The only downside with this book is that all the photographs are in black and white and far too many of them are poorly reproduced so you miss out on design details. Unfortunately the Limited Edition guides are produced for cars which the publisher believes won't have much demand. On the basis that this is much better than nothing, I say get it if you're interested in Citroens in particular or 1970s exoticars in general.
