I have glass doors that can close my fireplace, but was nervous about my toddler getting too close. She doesn’t mess with it, is able to enjoy the fire and mom worries less!

Fits my fireplace good

This screen works pretty well for my quiet house. It’s just me, my SO, and my two really old dogs that aren’t very active anymore. It covers my fireplace nicely as long as it’s not straight, both sides need to be turned in a bit. My whole fireplace is brick and luckily, I can wedge one side under an uneven brick to keep the screen in place. If it wasn’t for that, I may have returned it as it’s not very sturdy. I recommend this screen for quiet households or if someone in the family can weld stabilizing feet on it. If you have little kids and/or active pets, I would look elsewhere for your fireplace screen needs.

We purchased this to use with our wood stove so we could have the door open and heat up the room faster. Even with the stove door closed this screen looks very nice wrapped in front of it. Nice for added protection. It has no feet but stands nice and sturdy. The hinge is a full hinge from top to bottom so no gaps for sparks to fly though. Also very nice. The screen doesn't get too hot where you can't touch it. The screen is very tall but looks nice, and I'd rather have the larger size to prevent rouge sparks, etc. The screen itself is clear and doesn't disrupt the ambiance of the fire viewing. Some screens are so dark it obscures your view, this does not. It does slightly darken your view but gives it a nice look that is appealing. I'm very pleased.

Looks nice at fireplace

First shipment the item was badly bent and not useable. As usual Amazon reshipped it quickly. It’s the reason to buy Amazon. The unit is lightweight but simple. Maybe too light weight. It can easily be pulled back by a small child falling away from the fireplace. The hinges are well made to prevent little finger pinches but it also doesn’t hold the positional shape too well. It is thin enough metal that it heats up. But then again this is not a high end or expensive unit. It’ll buy you a minute or two to catch a little one getting too close to the gas fireplace. That’s what I needed.

We purchased this for our fire place, so that we could open the glass doors, still enjoy the fire without worrying about the embers flying out and burning the carpet.Then I thought, were should I store it? I decided to put in front of the cat food, (our dogs been eating the cat food) cat can get around the barrier, our dog cannot! Problem solved!

I actually bought this not to screen my fire but to stop my dog stealing and chewing up my kindling, but it looks nice, actually my lounge room looks better with the fire wood tucked behind this tidy screen. I had this shipped internationally and it was very quick even though we are living in strange times with a lot of delayed parcels.

Looks like advertise, however is much lighter than described and when used for the first time for a fire, it smelled like the gate was burning
