Dial in the correct temperature.
I've had the blender 4 days now. It didn't start of that well because it didn't seem to froth alot (compared to my krups). I noticed other people had reviewed and complained about it too. After doing some research, you need to try the different settings and dial in the correct heat amount for your requirements. So, more froth = a lower heat setting. The hotter you go = less froth. I've dialed in between the cold and hot froth heat setting. Easy to do, and once in place keep it there. Now the frothing is absolutely FANTASTIC. Skimmed milk is amazing! Too much froth for a single mug/cup. Semi-skimmed is the perfect cup amount. The heat isn't even compromised. It's really easy to clean and built like a tank. I now love it and am looking forward to testing out the hot chocolate feature.

Brilliant - we love it
We missed our usual take out coffees during lock down so we wanted to make our own cappuccinos. We looked at lots of the other cheaper ones but went for this one as it had a larger capacity and good reviews. It was the right decision. It was more expensive but the quality shows. We love this frother - it makes enough for two large mugs - roughly half hot milk and half froth. It's hot enough and froths skimmed milk reliably every time. Really easy to clean, quick to use we love it. It's made lock down more bearable.

Best frother on the market!
Second Severin frother I have bought -this one is a requested Xmas present for my daughter and partner as they have just moved into their first home together. Mine is still going strong after around 4 years, and used frequently….. the new one is obviously a ‘can’t live without’ item! It is a great machine, easy to use, and whole jug goes on dishwasher. Not opened and used yet, but it’s just the updated model. Buy Severin … you will not be disappointed.

A good product but also a bit annoying.
This product was delivered so fast, I was worried that someone was reading my mind.It is a good solid product. Designed in Germany but made in China, like most things in life. No issue really unless you're a xenophobe. It is solidly built. Here is the good, the bad and the ugly. (well, it's not really ugly)It does perform well as a milk heating element. The induction heating function is impressive. In less than a minute, you have 65c milk from cold. No burned spots in the stainless steel cup.The temperature is spot on.The steel cup has no seals inside, it is simply molded with a protrusion in the bottom which mounts the plastic surrounded magnet which spins, producing the froth feature. Thus, you have no fluid seal. Quite a good idea. This plastic magnet I refer to from here on, as a 'plastic magnet thingy'.You have three plastic magnet thingys, one smooth for just heating milk, One serrated for frothing, and a cover for the serrated one for chocolate milk. (This one constantly pops off, so I don't use the cover. Its a pain.)Semi-skimmed and whole milk will provide a nice froth, hot or cold.Plant milks will depend on the fat content. I have found that oat milk with 1.5% fat froths nice when cold, but produces no froth when frothing and heating. You need at least 2-3% fat in the milk for hot frothing. Barrista Oat milk, with 3% fat, froths nicely on the hot cycle, for example. It is VERY easy to clean. As the steel jug simply lifts off the main unit, all you have to do is rinse it with hot water. The plastic magnetic inset stays in the jug. Just rinse it out with some soapy water and it's ready to go back on the main unit. No need to use a dishwasher , but if you want to, I can't see a problem as the jug is just a one piece of stainless steel, there are no bearings or rubber seals to ruin in a dishwasher. The bad..Bizarrely, there does not seem to be a way to turn the machine off!Press the main button and it comes out of standby with a blue flashing light. Press again and it starts the function you select with the dial. At the end of the process, it stays lit and flashes a bit but then after about two minutes, it goes into standby. There is no way to turn it off. It doesn't matter too much to me because I'm rich and don't care about my electricity bill but it does seem a bit unusual.More concerning is this..Sometimes., maybe just when you are not expecting it, the mixing insert (you know, the little plastic magnetic mixy thingy) comes off of the steel protrusion it is mounted on, causing the machine to flash red and blue and make a disturbing noise. The machine is clearly in distress at this travesty. This can be rectified by re-inserting the plastic magnetic thingy but it clearly disturbs a process which would have been satisfying otherwise. This happens when you put sugar in with the milk before starting the machine. This knocks the plastic magnetic thingy off its mount. It also happens when you put small chunks of chocolate in the machine when using the hot chocolate function (If you get it to work, the chocolate is really good.)To be fair, the manual (probably also written by the Chinese chap who assembled the unit) does state to add ingredients only when the machine is running. It also says never to take off the lid on the cup while the machine is running, which is a bit of a contradiction... but the same manual suggests unplugging the machine before any cleaning, so it can be safely assumed that the manual can be summarily disregarded as packing material.OK, to make a long story not quite as long, I am happy with this product and I would buy it again. It just takes some getting used. to.

Excellent product brings to life coffee experience
Been looking for a new milk brother to replace my old Jura model that had given up the ghost in terms of frothing and heating. Spent a long time looking and considering different reviews before settling on the Severin. It's not the cheapest, but I feel this is one of those gadgets where you very much get what you pay for, and, so far, the Severin has not disappointed.Milk froths really well - lucky to live in an area close to a farm who sells direct to the locality so its extra creamy and high in protein, all of which are useful in creating good flat whites and steamed coffees. Big plus is ease of cleaning especially as we use it six or seven times a day as I'm a crime writer working from home. Can't fault it and has really brought to life my daily coffee experience - all of my local roast coffee beans seem to taste so much better now we have correctly heated and brother milk.

Worth paying the extra for
Have had various brands none of which were as durable or efficient. Easy to operate, nice thick foam and makes enough for a large breakfast cup. Does not burn the milk and is easy to clean. Have had 3 x aeroccinos all of which broke down while still under warranty, a Lavazza and a cheaper brand. This one is superior in performance and reliability to all of them,.

Easy to clean
Makes great frothy, hot milk, had a few variations over the years, but this is the best so far, so easy to clean. It was a little larger than I thought, but great if you are heating milk for more than one person.
