I wasn't sure that I will get the organic & original taste here in the US but this product is by far the best with a reasonable price.

THIS IS CRUSHED CARAWAY
i got this in a pinch to put in my Irish soda bread, but was unpleasantly surprised when i saw it and tasted it. it's important that you understand this is CRUSHED caraway seed and in no way does it taste like whole caraway.. huge disappointment in that soda bread, but, I'm reserving the possibility that it will taste ok in some savory dishes, especially north african dishes (like harissa). if you are going to put into your soda bread, beware!

This is NOT the caraway seeds I add to rye bread or sauerkraut.
This is not what I expected this to be. I love caraway seeds. I was curious to try Ethiopian caraway seeds. What this is:According to the bottle this is Netch Azmud caraway seed. It is 2 ounces. What I realize in reviewing this, I don't feel I can accurately review it for what it is supposed to be. I thought this would be caraway seeds as I am used to in rye bread. This is NOT like rye bread caraway seeds.I have tried looking up Ethiopian caraway seeds. I have looked up Netch Azmud. In both cases, I can find very little information. Many of the searches just pulls up this brand of caraway seed.Upon receiving:This comes sealed with a plastic band upon arrival.Opening it up:These are tiny seeds. Nothing like regular caraway seeds.Tasting:These have a grassy, almost minty bitter flavor. There is some heat that reminds me of black pepper's heat. How many stars? This was a hard one for me. I don't know enough about the product. Nor can I find information. Nor did I cook with it because I don't know what flavor profile to put it in. I am decided 4 stars because if someone knows what this is, it seems to have good flavor. It is full of flavor. Just not the caraway seed that I know.

Authentic
This is the closest to authentic spices for my Oromo recipes. I really love it for the value.

Not what I expected
I was expecting caraway seed, like the seed that they put in rye bread. This is nothing like caraway seed. Not even close.I'm not crazy about it, not sure if I'll use again.

Taste overpowering
This is Ethiopian cumin powder - it’s between a seed and a powder as it’s not very finely ground seeds. The taste and smell is very different from the usual Indian cumin I am used to. It’s very strong, much more so than the usual one you buy in the supermarket. It kind of ruined the food for me

If you are looking to increase the flavor of your foods, these caraway seeds are exotic and very aromatic. So whether you are using these seeds in breads or in savory foods I think you will be delighted with the experience.~The Rebecca Review
