A Great Commentary For Everyone
This commentary is not too long like GK Beale's 1000+ page scholarly work. It's not too short that things are skipped over. In other words, it's no too hard to read for a lay person and gives enough substance for a more serious student. This is a great commentary for everyone, especially for those who have the book of revelation all figured out. This would be a great book to introduce a different way to read it and apply it. The book of revelation was not just for John's first hearers. It is a book for everyone to hear these warnings and promises of God and see how these symbols help us live in our day. Johnson calls this "idealism." The strange symbols in Revelation were happening in John's day and they are still happening today. Revelation is for everyone and so is Triumph of the Lamb. Check it out! I found it very helpful.

A brilliant understanding on the Revelations of John
The best study of this vast subject I have read. It also give other views where it is not clear in the Bible while justifying his view.

It is a good read. If you want to understand Revelation with an Idealistic and Amillennial perspective, I recommended you to read this book. As the author used a verse to verse exegeis approach and he heavily depended on the O.T. to explain the symbols in Revelation. Moreover the author also compare different schools of interpretion of Revelation (i.e. Historical, Preteristic, Futuristic, Idealistic). He pointed out the strength and weakness of each school in the appendix. Furthur the author also pointed out different interpretions of 20:1-6 the Thousand Year (i.e. Postmillennialism, Premillennialism and Amillenialism). I highly recommend this book for those who want to learn the proper way of interpretion of Revelation instead of just matching some verses of Revelation to the historical or current or furture events.

A challenge to how many view Revelation
The author challenges the long-held dispensational view of Revelation and gives a different view held by Augustine. There will be intense persecution against the church before the end, but we shouldn’t get overwhelmed. Jesus will come once, and not twice, to make things right.

Clarity and biblically reliable!
I have an MDiv and just retired from 40 yrs in pastoral ministry. This commentary finally makes biblical sense allowing scripture to interpret scripture.

This is a simple book to digest.
I love the simplicity with which Kohnson writes. I don't agree with everything he says, but I get where he's coming from. While I am not of his persuasion on eschatology I do appreciate his straightforward writing and commentary.

Excellent for exegetical insight as well as for devotional reading
This book is an excellent read, whether for exegetical insight into a beautiful book of Scripture or as a devotional. It has been the most useful of all the commentaries that I have read on Revelation and does an excellent job of correlating it with the Old Testament as well as providing necessary insights for the 21at century reader. I wish I had found this gem earlier along my path to studying this often-misunderstood book of our Bible.

great commentary but poor kindle format
The commentary is great, one of the best on Revelation, but the font which is used for the kindle book is not easy to read. The letters of this font are really thin and don't appear in good contrast to the background as it is with other kindle books. Unfortunately it is not possible to change the font as it is with other kindle books.

The Triumph of the Lamb
The book was not TTS blocked which is good because I need TTS.I found it to have a rather post-modern outlook which I had no way of knowing without reading it.If I could have read some of it first I would not have bought it. His understanding of the generic thematic parallelism and the extensive use of the base number 7 is limited. It has an effective title which all I had to go by. It also has good documentation.OK if you like traditional or post-modern dissertation.SH
