Ruins is Wolf People's new album, and its over-riding theme is that of nature reclaiming the land. The transcendence of life over politics, plants over people.

The 1973 Wicker Man loves this band, and so do I!
It's been awhile since I truly fell in love with a band. Wolf People bring neo-psychedelic, Pagan British folk rock blowing cool across a northern lake and through an ancient circle of standing stones.

Really really good. If you are musically into the whole history of what I would call UK hippie and progressive rock (say Fairport Convention were to have collaborated with Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats) then this is probably a 5 star for you. Excellent sound quality with lots of layers and psychedelic pleasantries.

Good modern day psychedelic music
It took several listens but it's grown on me. If you like bands like Black Mountain and Heron Oblivion you will enjoy this. Really good modern day psychedelic music.

Wishbone Convention and More
Put simply: This is another great album by Wolf People. Their music is a hybrid of Wishbone Ash Argus and Fairport's Full House. It's hard rock (not metal at all) rooted in English traditional song. Think about "Poor Will and the Jolly Hangman" or "Doctor of Physick." This new album has a bit more distorted sound--both vocals and guitars, but the melodies surface after several listens. The guitar work is sublime--just like those early Wishbone albums. Oh--and there is a subtle use of flute. This is just a great rock album.

Another solid release from the old school new guys.
A really good album, perhaps not as easily accessible or single-release worthy as Fain, but it is solid and faithful to their trademark sound. I agree with the other reviews that say that it takes a listen or two to really get into it (again, unlike Fain, which I liked immediately). If I had based my choice on listening to MP3 snippets or one or two YouTube audio clips, I would probably have not gotten the album- I'm glad I didn't do that.I'll skip trying to describe the music, as others have done it far better than I can. I'll just say that if you like Fain and Steeple, you'll probably like this after about 3 runs through. And Kingfisher really IS the heart of the album, and deservedly so.
