Piano For The Small Fry Prep Book 1-B

Fast delivery of my favorite series for young piano students.

Some of the concepts in this book are laid out very well. I like that it is slow paced for kids and pretty easy. It teaches the very basics, such as what a treble clef is, etc very well (in fact, better than most of the books I've tried). The fault that I have with it is that it uses a Middle C approach to teaching the piano which I have found to be detrimental to students. When my students have made it through the book, they still can't read music, but rather rely on their C position. I think this book is better than most Middle C approach method books but I prefer the series The Music Tree as it teaches intervals and note reading right from the start.

A great book for very beginning piano students. It is easy and fun, all studentsfinish the book successfully.
