I got this kit so that I could check the KH and GH of my reverse osmosis water faucet that I had installed. I use this water to brew coffee where the water chemistry matters a lot in terms of the flavor you can get out of a pour over. I used the recommend approach on Jonathan Gagne’s water guide to test my RO water using a larger volume of water per test so that you could have more precision with the kit drops and that seemed to work pretty well.Overall, I’m pretty happy with this test kit. My main concern is that it was hard to get individual drops reliably when testing the sample. I’ve also heard that the drops go bad so I have a lot left, but I’m not sure how long it will remain accurate.

If ph is what you're concerned about this is a good little kit. Does the job and is simple to use.

This is my first phosphate test I have ever bought because issues I have with my reef aquarium. I should have done that a long time ago because I learned that my phosphate levels were about 50 times too high which leads to several of my corals dying. I also tested my freshwater planted tank where the phosphate levels were also very high but that's a high power running aquarium and very high nutrients levels actually beneficial for the plants. The most important part that I learned using this test was that's my top water has really high phosphate levels. Since I'm using RODI filter, it showed me that my cartridges were too old and where needed to exchange. Once I did that the health of my corals went up almost instantly.
