Porta-Trace LED Light Panel, Black Frame, 11-by-18-Inch

I have been trying to find a way to transfer drawings to watercolor paper (I prefer not to do the drawing directly on the expensive watercolor paper because I make a lot of corrections). I tried many methods but none were satisfactory. I was leery of light boxes because I did not know if they would work through watercolor paper, particularly the heavier papers. But since Amazon makes it so easy to return things if they don't work out I decided to take a gamble (and also because their price was lower than a few I checked on line, particularly with free shipping). I was delighted to find that the images are easily traceable with 140 pound Arches paper and of course the lighter papers. But the big test - and the one I was most concerned about - was with the 300 pound paper that I often like to use. To my delight it is possible if the drawing is on fairly thin paper and the lines are dark enough. Wonderful - so I decided to keep it and it has worked really fine.When using the 300 pound paper if my image is complicated I find it works best if I first trace my drawing on thin tracing paper and then darken the drawing with Sharpie permanent markers. Then the image is easily visible through the 300 Arches paper.

Well constructed very basic. It is heaviethan I would have liked and I don't quite understand the wide colored border since that restricts usable space. Paper catches in the metal framing Light switch os a toggle...on off..no dimming feature.

I love the light panel and am learning to use it in my photography, and I have just begun to explore the creative uses. This is my "rainy day" toy! The screen gives a bright and even light. Just connect the wire and plug it in. There is an on/off switch. Easy... and it does not take up much space to store.I am including a photo that I took of spring flowers on the lightbox. I could not have gotten such an image without it.

Light panel is nice so far, it has very bright and even light. The anodized frame is a little loose at the corners and the back slides around within the frame. Nether of these affect the performance but we will see if holds up. I like it so far. But see my shipping review.

So glad I bought this. Uses LED lights which are cool and lighting is very even.Light is very bright, can do drawings on 140 LB watercolor paper through it and can even see through lighter shades of MiTienes pastel paper. But if you are having trouble seeing what you want to trace, the darker your room is, the clearer you'll be able to see what you want to draw. Think this applies to all light boxes.Never owned an Artograph Light Pad, so I can't say for sure, but I think this is equal to that but is priced better than the Artograph.

Unbelievably well packaged product, minimizing chances of damage during delivery. The product itself is what I was looking for to light up negatives and slides for digitization with my camera. The only thing I could ask for would be legs to hold it up vertically. Great product!

I use this for checking negatives, I got a big table light table. but this lets me sit down and find look thru negatives quickly.

I got this for my artist boyfriend because he has never had a lightbox before, and had only used them at school. I wanted to get him something nice, but also something portable. This was the perfect fit. The adapter is a little large, but who cares! the light is brilliant, and the box is sturdy, yet thin. The PERFECT gift. I have a 'lighttracer' , and totally want to get myself this one now!
